The Plot THICKENS: Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund Has Some INTERSTING News Regarding Tesla Going Private...
Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) has shown no interest so far in financing Tesla Inc CEO Elon Musk’s proposed $72 billion deal to take the U.S. electric car maker private, despite acquiring a minority stake in the company this year, two sources familiar with the matter said...

...However, a source who is familiar with PIF’s strategy said it was not currently getting involved in any funding process for Tesla’s take-private deal.

A second source close to the situation also said PIF was not taking part in any such plan at this stage. This source said that the Saudi fund would not make an investment of this kind without seeking guidance first from Softbank.

Reuters reported on Wednesday that SoftBank was not currently pursuing a deal for Tesla given its investment earlier this year in rival GM Cruise...

This was another "Boris Trump" like maneuver that will blow up in Musks face. It would have been bad if it was said in private - but in public that will be investigation by the SEC - HE better be able to back up his statements.

@MD Two wrong's don't make a right. At least that's what Mom says. As well in any negotiation, I doubt even if Softbank or the Saudi's were thinking about investing they would not tell the press they were. As jail is not fun, I hope Elon does have funding squared away.

The only 2 exports from shit hole Saudi Arabia (the champion of human rights) is oil and terrorism -actual 911 terrorists or the funding of terrorist groups. The small investment in Tesla was only speculative and window dressing at best. Why would they buy a company that nullifies the only natural resource and cash cow they have?

Try being gay, a female or a foreign worker in Saudi Arabia and tell me how good life is. The only reason they get a pass is because of the extreme oil wealth extracted by migrant slave labor. If this was Musks lifeline then he is toast.

Musk is nearing the point where (for legal liability purposes alone) the board has to fire him - in the same way that the Uber board fired Travis Kahlalnick (sp?).

Sure he is the "mouthpiece of Tesla" but his loose lips are going to sink the ship and create potentially big class-action liabilities if left uncheck (and likely already have created some with his statement this past week).

The clock is ticking for Tesla and Musk just made things much worse.

Kicking Musk out could result in Tesla becoming more coherent. Maybe they wouldn't put out a vehicle with silly sparrow doors or release a vehicle with more than a year of engineering development not completed.

When the tweet landed, there was speculation that the main financier was the Saudi sovereign fund. Then no, no involvement at all. Then maybe they'd be one of the investors.
The fact that the initial speculation was wrong can prove to be very bad for Musk. Sure looks like simple stock manipulation -- and that the greatly pumped stock price makes repayment of some debt much less expensive.
Meanwhile, at the last earnings report, TSLA said they had 17k assembled Model 3s yet to be delivered. So that have to be somewhere, yet no one knows where they are. Makes the number look really, I dunno, questionable? Meanwhile, every day the competition grows...
