Toyota Hikes The 2019 Tundra TRD Pro Price By Almost 4 Grand - Is The Raptor A Better Deal?

Toyota has slapped the 2019 Tundra TRD Pro with a significant price hike from the last time it was offered back in 2017.

Cars Direct has discovered that pricing for the 2019 TRD Pro CrewMax starts at $51,275 including destination. That’s a huge $3870 leap from the entry-level TRD Pro version offered in 2017 which started at $47,405.

Finally a Toyota product accurately named...TRD. Pronounced TERD.

The Ranger is a handsome truck. This isn't. Toyota is apparently incapable of producing a good looking vehicle. They insist on adding ugly complexity. The hood is a mess. If they'd just left off the ugly-ass horizontal vents and made the hood one piece, it would have helped immensely. The two piece plastic meets metal hood construction is just weird. (Pedestrian protection???) The varying panel gaps don't help either.

The Tundra simply isn't in the running for being relevant in its segment.

Toyota is doing this because it can. Even if the truck is not a leader in the segment - there are enough people out there who blindly buy a Toyota for its "reliability" that will look for a higher performance version.

Meanwhile, Tundra sales are in the toilet.

I just walked away from the Toyota dealer with their fantasy atmospheric pricing.
