Tesla's Roadster Will Most Likely Have A Track Mode
The next-generation Roadster is set to become the golden standard of Tesla’s electric cars. The all-electric supercar is the very definition of a “Halo Car,” a vehicle designed to showcase the full capabilities of the automaker. The next-gen Roadster’s specs are practically unheard of, such as its 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds, its sub-9-second quarter-mile time, its top speed of over 250 mph, and its 200 kWh battery that gives a range of 620 miles per charge.

Don't get me wrong, I love sports cars but is a sports car really the best way to go considering Tesla is burning cash and having trouble getting more mainline mass models out the door. I don't think so.

You're smoking crack if you think anything besides a Rimac 2 has a chance on a track against this thing.

@joneshamilton -Why not try responding using proper spelling and grammar? As well nobody cares about how fast a Civic goes around a race track. Ever. But keep sticking up for Civic Nation / Stance Nation and 5-inch wide tailpipes.

Are you hitting on Canadiancomments? That's a twist I didn't see coming.

Think that's a simulated/photoshop color. I saw a version in standard Tesla white in person at the investor event and it looked freakin phenomenal.

Porsche doesn't even have a CONCEPT anywhere near those specs. So far no one has ever proposed a car with over 500 miles of range, probably because it's overkill for 99.999% of the population. They would also have to build a brand new car bottom up for those specs. They can't just cram a bunch of batteries and motors in a GT3 and call it a day, that means 4+ years from when they start the program for it.

why would you not expect a sports car (real or vapor) to not be designed to have track mode?!! this is non news in so many ways beyond the TESLA brand.

Well we are finally getting somewhere with EVs. A 600 mile range - combined with a one or two hour Level 3 charge time would start to eat into ICE sales much more than current cars do.

Your sentiment is valid, but there is no moderation on this site. How else do you explain Darringer spewing his asinine commentary here for years on end?

Or yourself for that matter.
