Nah. Just more Alt-Right spin. Canada is an independent, sovereign nation. They have their own trade deals. If the US negs them, that only means the US is having a trade war with Canada. If the US shuns Canada in a trade deal with Mexico, then Canada's own Canada/Mexico deals still stand, independently of what the US does.

The US does not dictate over Canada, although Trump and his Devotees might believe so, as this page's title incorrectly suggests.

The US owns Candada (and Mexico for that matter) as 75% of Canada's GDP gets sold to the US. 16% of the US GDP flows north. If Canada had to pay its own expenses, it would be a Third World nation.

Rest assured there will be a 3-way revised NAFTA deal. Trump won't get to rename it either. As well the US Congress will certainly want to review it before they vote for it too. Friday is not a real deadline either. I suspect the CDN side will push to reinstate Chapter 19 which is the dispute settlement mechanism. Most of what has been agreed to was agreeable in the past as well.

Canada has a well-managed dairy industry and unlike the extreme oversupply of milk products in the USA along with dairy farmers committing suicide, Canada will likely want to stay the course with its policies (no growth hormones allowed in milk), but allow for the market to be opened up a bit more.
Trump needs a win as North Korea, China and Russia have not really panned out into any sort of agreement or terms going forward. Adding $1.5T USD to the debt to give corporations and the rich a tax break isn't much to run on in November or in 2020. So there will be some flexibility on both sides and a 3-way deal will get done.

As this deal was done 24 years ago, it has passed the mustard with many US presidents. Modernizing it is a good step. But don't believe it was a bad deal. The USA has a history of making sure it is always on the winning side of any negotiation.

@QEW - Here is a good article explaining why the US system doesn't work. US Govt subsidies and price insurance are an odd mix for milk production. There are too many farmers and too much milk is being produced at a loss in the USA.
