The Grand Tour's Richard Hammond Endures ANOTHER Nightmare...Can He Catch A Break?
The funny thing about performers or presenters is that you get used to seeing them on television or on the radio so much that you forget that these are, in fact, real people. But, now and then, we're reminded. Typically, it's in unfortunate circumstances.

And The Grand Tour's Richard Hammond has had yet another setback, which is one of several in recent years.

Hammond and his family were vacationing in France's well-known haven, Saint Tropez, when they awoke after a night's rest to realize that something was...off. Their bedroom doors were open and certain items were missing.

It turns out that Saint Tropez has been home to a burglary ring that uses what's believed to be a type of anesthetic gas to knock out their to-be-burgled victims. Once out, they work their way through the home to ransack their belongings and take the goodies.

Thankfully, no one was injured or harmed during the robbery.

While experts dispute the likelihood of this type of crime being carried out in this way, there's been multiple high-profile reports.

Fears are emerging that Saint Tropez's knockout gas burglars have returned after Richard Hammond's family were robbed in their sleep.

Thieves are known to have previously pumped anaesthetic gas through air conditioning systems in a series of raids on luxury villas on the French Riviera.

Mr Hammond's wife, Mindy, said she is "convinced" the family were targeted while staying at an up-market property on the French coast...

"Hammond, you idiot!"

They now need to do a rolling coal segment and have Hammond pass out.

Well...I guess they should have vacationed in America.

This happened to a prominent NYC family who rented a villa in St. Tropez for a month and they basically never went back to France. What if their was too much anesthetic gas and they died.

Else, just stay in a hotel - there are several nice ones in St. Tropez that run about $8,000/night.

Unfortunate.

@mre30- Agreed. South Beach, Key Biscayne, LA, Moab, Colorado, NYC, Connecticut, Hawaii, etc, the USA is full of fun vacation spots.

When I was a teenager and in my early 20s I vacationed for free in Palm Springs.

Maybe just maybe Saint Tropez should perhaps take note and make an effort to break of the burglary ring. Ultimately it will hurt tourism.

@Agent00R I am amazed daily on how many posters do no realize this is indeed the Agent's show and that being able to post here is a privilege, not a right. I don't see anyone paying a membership fee. As well I seem to remember a lot of advertisers on the site in the past (Bell + Ross) and others. I would still remove members who can't seem to understand this is a car site. I bet more advertisers would come back.

@coch - That isn't necessary as per Agent00R's response. It is their show and they can post any articles that they want. It is Autospies a car news site and forum. Richard Hammond was part of the biggest TV car show in the world TopGear. That is why it made it onto this site. He is not some random guy who got robbed. My jab was directed at people who seem to think this is a political site where each side and shoot arrows at the other and hijack each post.
