A self-driving car owned by Apple was involved in an accident, California’s road authority has confirmed.

The car, a modified Lexus RX450h with autonomous sensors, was rear-ended by a human driver in a Nissan Leaf.

Humans were unhurt, but the machines suffered moderate damage.

Virtually ALL of the time - a rear ender is the fault of the OTHER car - so why is this reported as an accident of an Autonomous Vehicle -when those systems probably had NOTHING to do with the Accident.

It this like a death certificate- if you have Cancer - it will be listed as one cause of death - regardless - even if you are run over by an autonomous Apple car.?

Exactly, we should tally how many accidents the car caused versus people around it. Even though the tech is still early, it is already outperforming a lot of drivers on the road today.
