The way in which you operate a Mercedes has changed radically. Gone is that familiar rotary controller, used to click on lists at the edges of the infotainment screen. In its place, after four years of research with partner Samsung-Harman, comes MBUX – the Mercedes-Benz User Experience – which is operated in four different ways: touchscreen, steering wheel pads, touchpad (sited where the rotary controller used to be) and the big one: voice control.  

Say ‘Hi Mercedes’ and the touchscreen leaps into life, awaiting your command. ‘I’m a bit cold, make me warmer,’ I mutter. The A200 responds by offering to navigate to Walmer near Deal in Kent. I'm confused, is this something new and different than what I've had in my "lowly" non-german, "Oh my god it's a re-badged Nissan", Infiniti products going back to 2006?

I change radio stations by voice in my Chrysler Mini-van all the time. It is even easier than having push buttons. Eventually you get "trained" on how to properly pronounce words to the system will understand you.

Original author must not be familiar with Mercedes... Touchscreen & touchpad is new to Mercedes. Touchscreen is much easier to use than knobs while touchpad imo not so much. Wish they would’ve added touchscreen and left the knob alone.
