Not Surprising - GM no longer has any effective distribution in Europe anymore - which is the only place where a Diesel Cadillac would actually sell. In China - they favor Hybrids and EVs over diesel because of the air quality.

THe loss of Opel essentially eliminated Europe as a target for Cadillac - although Cadillac never sold well in Europe under any circumstances.

Europe is no longer a market worth chasing as it grapples with overcapacity. Opel was never all that brilliant of an engineering force, so GM giving it to the French makers of garbage (PSA) was a brilliant move.

Currently traveling in Italy. Interesting to see:

Diesel selling for about the same cost as regular.
Lots of older diesel vehicles, but newer ones largely petrol.
VERY obvious there are way too many different manufacturers and brands.
Koreans more numerous than Toyotas and Hondas.
Lots of Jeep Renegades. Seems to be the in car.
Mid size CUVs very popular.

Whoa! Diesel is dead? Now that's a shocking development.

It's time for a pair Cadillac of Cadillac EVs. Maybe Elrayo (the lightning) or Eltrueno (the thunder) to use the Spanish-like names Cadillac loves.

Top priority should be given to turning the Bolt into an EV crossover for Cadillac.
