Has Trump Secretly Promised Middle East Allies Higher Gas Prices In Exchange For Them Keeping The Radicals In Check There?

Has Trump Secretly Promised Middle East Allies Higher Gas Prices In Exchange For Them Keeping The Radicals In Check There?
If you look at the history of President Trump, one thing is pretty clear. He's always had tight business relations with the Saudi's and other middle east allies. And they REALLY like him. Because he's driven by money and a shrewd businessman like them.

Just look at how they treated him when he made his first visit as President. Nowhere has he been treated better.

And since those meetings, although there have been some terror attacks, it seems like they have them on the run and the attacks aren't as severe.

But at the same time we keep making more oil (now the biggest producer in the world as of a recent news story) yet gas prices haven't really gone down alot.

Which got me thinking...

Could it be Trump has secretly promised them to protect their profits IN EXCHANGE for them keeping the ISIS insanity factory in check?

Not only would it make sense, but it seems like a fair deal to me. We pay a little more for gas and they do the job on their end and they tamp down quickly on anything brewing there. And they feed intelligence to us about any potential threats in the works for the USA.

Now let me say I have ZERO evidence of this but my instinct tells me I'm on to something here.

What say you Spies? Is my theory a distinct possibility or Brietbart/InfoWars worthy?

Spies discuss...

Sorry- but there are Just too many pieces to this puzzle for me to believe that Trump thought it up - or was even spoon fed by the arab countries.

Gas prices have actually gone up quite a bit since Trump took office - that has largely been due to other issues (Like politics in South AMerica) Isis has found itself on the wrong side of a group of wars -and is now too fragmented to really put on a show.

If I was American I would be much more concerned with Gerrymandering as well as voter suppression tactics and laws and the fact that corporations are allowed to contribute to political campaigns. These things are all very real and hurt Americans and their democracy vs the conspiracy theory that is present in the above article.

CC I thought you were going to get off the anti-Trump trash train? Anyone who has an issue with Citizens United is a partisan hack that only wants union money confiscated from their members and funneled to the demoncraps. And the United States is a Representative Republic, look it up... there is a VERY big difference. Anyone who says "our democracy" is an idiot or a partisan hack... probably both.

Well if we are going to wade into politics, both the Rs & Ds could have had a nice compromise on this id thing to vote. I am certainly ok with the idea of an id to prove you are a citizen and eligible to vote. I do think there are many other ways to suppress or change the vote so they could have had a compromise something along the lines of these 4 points: 1) make it relatively easy to obtain the id (unlike Alabama which as soon as they passed their id law they closed every office you could get an id in all of NE Alabama where the most of the African American population in that state lives) 2) make it easy to vote (have plenty of early voting, mail in ballots and don't have 1 polling place for 100,000 poor people and 50 for 200 wealthy people) 3) demand that all elections have paper ballots that can be audited against the electronic systems and 4) ensure there are random audits performed by random entities in every state for each major election cycle (essentially every 2 years) and 5) have random citizens (or some better method) draw district boundaries to cut down on politicians choosing their voters.

@xjug1987a - I was not mentioning Trump in my post. Actually, as an independent, he could be a hero likely take all the money out of politics with an executive order. As well wouldn't it be better if no 3rd party money could be funneled into elections front any group? In Canada, you can only contribute $1550.00 annually to political causes. And no money from 3rd parties is allowed to directly fund campaigns. Sucking all the money out of politics put the focus back on ideas and the needs of voters.

@CC -agree, in my perfect world only US citizens can contribute to US politicians and they can only contribute a maximum of $2000. No bundling, no PACs, no Union donations, no corporate funding. I am not so clear how you would handle things like movies, books etc... it is tricky to not trample free speech while at the same time not equating speech with money like we do now. In the current system some have a lot more free speech (aka money) than others.

Actually, xjug1987a interesting enough instead of social media or Russians etc, the 2016 election was the first one since 1965 that the Voter Protection Act did not apply. Since it was repleaded the US States that are traditionally RED have been moving swiftly to pass laws and make other changes that make it very difficult for people to vote. If you are low income and don't have a drivers license or a passport, what photo ID do you have? Or if there is a 5-6 hour line up at the only polling station close to where you live and you don't have a car then what? If 130M people voted in 2016 and 100m stayed home, there really should be polling stations to serve all 230m US voters. I myself have never lined up to vote and never spent more than 30 total minutes voting (including any travel). If it is a level playing field, may the best candidate win.

We've see the "very stable genius" at work with his Muslim ban... which DIDN'T include Saudi Arabia, where virtually all of the 9/11 terrorists came from. Mind you, the Saudis have oil, and they have fabulous wealth, so there's that.

Trump is a stupid person's idea of a smart man, a poor person's idea of a rich man, and a weak person's idea of a strong man.

No - this much thinking is a stretch for the Trumpinator. Oil prices are up because its hurricane season in the US and there is refinery stress.

This is a bit of a stretch. Trump can't really control oil prices without somehow limiting US oil production which he obviously has not done. The only entity that can really control oil prices are the Saudis because they control OPEC, and they control basically all the reserve pumping capacity that can be quickly activated
There have been a variety of reasons for rising oil prices...among them:

1. End of Iran nuclear deal removed some oil from the market.
2. Saudi Arabia and Russia agreed to oil cuts through the end of the year. Saudi Arabia has a real incentive to jack up oil prices int he short term because they want to float part of Aramco on the market.
3. The Global economy is doing will causing increased consumption
