Say WHAT? Ford's Bad Ass GT Fails To Deliver When Pitted Against Trio Of European Sports Cars

An eclectic group of top-tier performance cars that includes the Porsche 911 GT2 RS, the Ford GT, the Mercedes-AMG GT R and the Lotus Exige Cup 430 has been brought together on Anglesey circuit in order to find out which one can post the fastest lap time.

Evo magazine gathered the four models, fitted them with the same tire (Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 if you had to ask) and put Steve Sutcliffe behind the wheel and against the clock.

Every Ford GT available for sale is sold

Since FORD is in business for the money - I am sure the results of this competition will be ignored.

It's pretty obvious that the GT is built to a different purpose than the other cars. It's a ground-up competition racer car with no legitimate illusions to being an everyday driver. So purpose built is it that even at this course it couldn't demonstrate it's true virtues.

Whhhhhhaaaatttt? Not sure if you're oozing sarcasm or are serious. A "ground-up competition racer with no real illusions to being an everyday driver" but can't beat these everyday sports cars? Confused.

Most of the critisicms the review put out centered around how raw and noisey the car was compared to the others. Then he said that the course they ran the cars on was not suited to the GT's best advantages. That's what I mean by purpose-built. It's built specially to win on courses it's most likely to compete on.

A $400K V6 Ford, didn't beat the competition!! LOL" EXACTLY but who cares, they are excellent choices for different tastes. I will take any of them and sell it in about 20 years probably for 5X as much.

I am suppose to take delivery of my Ford GT tomorrow. I can throw it away because $475,000.00 doesn't mean that much to me. Or I can give it to you.

Please give me some guidance because I do not want the car.

I was surprised by this myself. With more aero than the AMG GT and the Porsche, you would think it would go faster. Nothing like the race against the clock to weed out the truth.

and who would buy a ford gt instead of the higher end mclarens or ferraris except for some pinky ring wearing douche who 'collects' cars like he collects skanks?

Skanks should be sampled and promptly discarded -never collected as unlike certain collectable cars, they are depreciating and high maintenance assets not worthy of ownership
