2019 BMW 3-Series Gets Fully EXPOSED Ahead Of Paris Debut!
Styling of the upcoming BMW 3 Series has been fully leaked ahead of its Paris motor show debut this week, revealing the car's fresh look and overhauled interior.

The leak, with images taken from a 3 Series configurator released early, shows the car's evolutionary look, with simplified rear end and more dramatic fascia. The shots surfaced on Bimmerpost last night.

It also confirms the introduction of a rear-wheel-drive M340i M Performance model, which will feature a 360bhp version of BMW’s twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine. It will be followed by a four-wheel-drive M340d xDrive M Performance, which is set to receive a 320bhp version of the company’s twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine.

Interesting, have a look at the interior. Looks like they simplified and streamlined it quite a bit... wonder why.

What you are implying is hilarious...Yeah I'm sure BMW is spending loads of time studying Tesla design

You bet your ass BMW is following what Tesla is doing, the Model 3 is eating away hundreds of millions of dollars in sales. If you compare the interior to the 2018 model, you'll see they did simplify it quite a bit. Look at the screen location and the gear shifter.

Though not surprising considering BMW's recent redesign approach, but it's an improvement over the current. Taillights are very Lexus-like. The headlight design also is Lexus-like with its completely unnecessary "design element" that breaks up the line of the surround. I really dislike the look of the digital speedo and tach and the overall interior is cold, like recent Audis. Hopefully some nice woods can warm it up a bit.

I don't like the back end on first look...but those images aren't particularly good either

The images are from configurator, not a photo.

Some configuration shots show metal switchgear and buttons.

Come on, BMW. Metal on the 3 and plastic on the 8? Are you insane?

What plastic on the 8?

Steering wheel buttons, window switches, mirror controls, lock and unlock, some of the climate control buttons, etc. There's also no Bowers and Wilkins sound system either, which means the speaker grilles are going to be plastic too, if the 7 and 5 are anything to go by.

At first I was half-miffed/half-pleased, as it put me off considering an 8 while simultaneously making sure my beloved 7 stayed at the top of the luxury and quality totem pole.

But if the 3 has metal buttons? That's just weird, especially since the 5 doesn't have them either.

I know that in the 7 that anything that looks like metal is actually air craft grade aluminum. I sat in the 8 two weeks ago and believe it's the same.

I don't doubt that, it's just that there are fewer things that are (real) metal than in the 7-Series, and they happen to be plastic instead, which I think is a mistake.

I haven't been inside the 8 personally, but I intend to check it out once it's available.

I tell you one thing that doesn't impress me is the center console is the same on the 3, 8, and new X5.

Same old, same old. BMW slumbers into another year.

The configurator photos are fuzzy, but this appears to be a huge mistake by BMW. The current 3-Series has seen its sales fall big time in the U.S. market. People don't want the race car handling of decades ago. They also don't want the cheap interiors BMW has been doing on its lower-end models.

Today's buyers in this segment want technology, infotainment, connectivity and solid handling but do not require BMW's intense focus on handling at the expense of luxury.

This new 3-Series will not give BMW what it needs to catch Mercedes-Benz or fend off Audi's continuing faster U.S. and global sales growth. That's a big problem for a company that was number one in U.S. and global sales just five years ago.

BMW always depended on its 3 series to produce the bulk of sales - the larger cars they produced were always questionable - if not downright second class to the real class leaders there.

Now - with crossovers taking a chunk of the sales formerly set aside for sports sedans - clearly the need for Real Styling change is needed - and BMW missed the opportunity. Other manufacturers have gotten the message - even if their attempts have been lame (Especially lexus).

Frankly - I suspect that the big introduction from Cadillac over the next two years are going to affect the Luxury segment - the Escalade look is really really nice.

I wouldn't give that car the time of day, so lame. They are lost with car design

This looks like a mid cycle refresh rather than an all new car. This will continue to sell based on the BMW brand and subvented leases, but BMW is quickly falling behind the competition...something they can not afford because the competition has more resources than they do.

I'm not ready to write it off just yet. In the photos..it looks bigger than the Mercedes C-Class and the Audi A4 yet with the glassy greenhouse, it looks "lighter" at the same time.

I think the design is a success even if it is somewhat evolutionaryy

when is the last time a German brand was spotted testing an AMERICAN car for their own product development.... my guess is pretty much NEVER. The Tesla Model 3 is a true disruptor game changer that is evidently causing the Germans sleepless nights.

This is probably a Habib design left over and like his other designs it is dull, unimaginative, derivative, and generic.

Still "basic" revisions for an industry that is still heavy on SUV/CUV sales. The 3-series is still a big product. So they have to keep it updated.

Really, a 180 horsepower 0-60 in 7+ seconds beamer will take on a Model 3 Performance? No.
