California Considers Counter-Proposal To EPA - Questions Automakers About What Is Wrong

California is considering a formal, public counter-proposal to President’s Donald Trump’s proposed rollback of fuel and pollution requirements for cars and trucks, a state official said Thursday.

The state has the legal standing to make such a counteroffer because, at least until the federal rollback takes effect, it’s got a binding agreement to link its greenhouse gas limits with Washington’s through 2025.

More California idiocy. I hope Trump pummels California after November.

@MD I think November just go a whole lot more interesting with a 2nd judge accused of sexual assault/impropriety named to the Supreme Court. Only 40% of voters ever show up for a mid-term election, most of them older. It would be easy for either side to really rock the boat and impact seat count in either house if people would just show up and vote.

@CC I realize that in your tribe accusations are "proof" because you do not believe in the rule of law. California has the 5th largest economy in the world and is perpetually flirting with bankruptcy. Thank you, moron Democrats in Sacramento.

@MD- Lets get to the core issue. In 2016 the US Senate refused to vet President Obama's centrist pick. An unprecedented action. In fact its even worse. Not since 1895 has a Republican controlled Senate approved a Democratic President's pick for the Supreme court. That is how long (likely longer) the GOP has wanted to control the court with 5+ justices.

@CC You're Canadian. Your prattling and opinions on American issues interests me not in the least.

I stay for a mixed bag of reasons.

My business holdings are too much to throw away. They mean a lot to be because I'm damn good at them.

My wife's family has been in town since it was founded and is very well connected. Her family history means everything to her.

I stay for my wife and my business ventures.

My family history is also long in the town/county (100 years) but it means nothing because it's a long line of criminals and never-do-wells.

My brother is married to a descendent of the founder and namesake of the town, but brother-in-law's history is isn't mine.

It's cool and all, but it is what it is.
