The Good, Bad, And The Ugly: Who Sold What In The EV Market For The Last Nine Months

September 2018 marks the 36th month of consecutive year-over-year monthly sales gains for plug-in vehicles.

Every month InsideEVs tracks all the plug-in EV sales/deliveries for the United States by automaker and brand. The 2018 calendar year has been the most interesting in the history of the segment, to say the least. Deliveries started off slow, but the momentum quickly changed. Now, each month is set to blow the ceiling off the past. In fact, four of the five best-selling months of all time for electric vehicles have all happened this year. September has already topped the list.

These statistics are useless
Until Evs are readily available from most major manufacturers - a list of Plug-in Hybrids and EVS is actually misleading.

I get what you are saying but still I applaud Tesla for lighting a fire under every manufacturer’s...chassis...and letting the Germans know they can not come to the battle field with half ass approaches to EV’s

Competition is great and the fact that the Model X and S are now besting Prius’s most popular model is AMAZING,

Tesla's market share of total EV sales will drop significantly over the next 24 months. Audi's eTron will be on sale by year end and Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and BMW are readying their own EVs.

Doubt it. Tesla sold more Model 3s last month than Audi's best case yearly production for the e-tron. Same for the Taycan. Both of the Germans will have have a base price of $75k plus. Honestly, there's plenty of room for all of them.

Just wait when the Tesla Model Y is revealed March 2019. If you thought the Model 3 has brought to EV to the masses, you haven’t seen anything yet. just wait until this direct competition to the Jaguar iPace undercuts that price point by $25,000. And let’s not get started on the Q5 and GLC and X5 sales that the Model Y are going to be made into a catastrophe for the lazy, late Germans.

German makes likely to limit their EV production, so likely will stay near the bottom of this list (<1000).

Really look at the pattern. If you don't think Tesla is cutting into ICE sales by now, you should look harder.
