It looks like a Cadillac to me..the jet turbine must be too loud for street use !!(I did not read the article)

Most modern Coast Guard ships use a Turbine engines on their ships.

It sounds exactly like a plane taking off from the airport and as you've stated being "too loud for street use" is right on the bull's eye.

These are fairly common in speed boats, the problem with turbines is that they burn as much gas idling as they do wide open. Crazy power out of a small package though
