Israel Goes Ahead And BANS Gasoline- And Diesel-powered Vehicle Sales Starting In 2030

A "proclamation of intention" does not always translate into a reality in the future. Governments change. Intentions change. And then there's hard, cold facts, which might not be so kind as to support your intentions.

I believe we humans will eventually migrate from fossil fuels to something else for personal transportation; Possibly electric vehicles. But I have a hard time picturing EVs being a widespread reality, for all people, even in a locale, within a mere dozen years.

The fact of the matter is that to move to EVs will require construction of power plants that generate a lot of power.

I'm sure the "fake race" Palestinians will make up for the lack of smoke and smog created by the ICE void by burning more Jews homes, cars, or launching some rockets and IEDs...??? ?????

I have ZERO empathy for Palestinians because all they want is terrorism.

For you Liberal Assholes who believe Israel should give the Palestinian a 2 state solution when that land was won fair and square in war (to the victors go the spoils of war) then the US should give back California, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico and Texas back to Mexico or any other captured land... If the US really wanted electric cars, instead of banning gasoline and diesel cars, just say no more new gas stations, just electric ones, and create a new business industry. Every few miles have a row of about a half a block of electric chargers...

Would not work - we already have FAR MORE gas station than we need to supply ICE vehicles. OF course - it would be far harder to BAN gas and Diesel cars in the USA - where that action cannot be taken for no provably good reason.

When you have an administration that completely ignores the changes in the environment and climate - how would THEY approve such a measure - I can think of ONLY one way - they would probably own all the EV makers.

Actually it COULD work, they would use supply and demand, as more EV's come online there would be less gas stations utilized, until they go the way of the coal industry...Of course the oil lobbies wouldn't allow that to happen by the way of bribes...legal ones, of course. Right now, the oil industry has more money than electric, so its just wishful thinking. But it probably would be easy.

The problem with Israel and the Palestinians is for more complicated than these posts are really touching on. The one thing I will say is that there has been many years of bitter distrust on both sides. Ultimately a 2 state solution needs to take place. However it will take many years to accomplish and will most likely require a UN peace keeping force as a border buffer. Now getting back to electric cars Israel is a small country with a high density of population. Unlike the US the distances between cities and towns lend itself to electrification in my opinion in much the same way as Europe. The US is more of a problem due to the vast distances and the sparse population of the western states. But realize that the US will most likely be 10 years behind the rest of the globe due to the Trump administration on the electric car front. Europe and China will be moving full steam ahead as their leaders tend to support the problem of Global Warming while the Trump administration and Republican leaders do not. That's a reality unfortunately.
