They're all European. Not a single American, Japanese or Korean car on the list.

That's because the person who made this list was a fan of German cars and would hate to see Japanese cars rightfully on this list. And who says what the most beautiful cars are, that is an opinion, not a fact. This article shouldn't be taken seriously considering it was based on one man's opinions.

Can you tell me one beautiful Japanese car?

Because to me a lot of them look like a salamander.

there aren't any "beautiful" japanese or american cars, there are some attractive ones sure, but no beautiful ones.

GS and M are both very good looking cars. Open mind is a beautiful thing to waste.

This is where I have to stop you. I can understand the others, but ES is pretty boring, and GX??? Are you out of your mind??? Ugliest car Lexus has ever made. Ever.

Just so you know S4cabriofox, the new Mercedes GL-Class was based on the GX. The name, the looks; they all came from Lexus. It's my favorite Lexus SUV. And I would agree that the ES is boring, but I like it for it's interior. The exterior isn't that great but I love the feel of the inside.

"The list does not include any Asian vehicles, and why is that?"

That's because Asian cars are appliances, and they don't have particularly captivating designs.

European cars, on the other hand, are beautiful. Most of them, at least.

Yawn! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'd never give any of those listed a second glance....with the exception of the Bently because of its rarity.

volvo beautiful? If japanese cars are compared to "appliances", volvo are equivalent to garbage cans. Here are some nice cars that should be on the list. Austin Martin Vanquish, Toyota Supera, Mercedes SL, Lexus LS460.
-------------------------------

But garbage can's aren't appliances therefore you can't compare a garbage can to any asian automaker =).
I feel that Asians make awesome cars but the Euro's mean beautiful cars. The asian's design cars with a purpose. The euro's design it with passion more than purpose, reason and can create 'beautiful cars'. Then again it's in the eye of the beholder.

Also it's Aston Martin not Austin Martin, and it's Toyota Supra not Supera.

Wow, a list based on something subjective like beauty and people act like it is an addition to the ten commandments or something.

So what if there are no Japanese vehicles on the lists. People's tastes differ. Some people like cars like the S80 better. Of course, there are some people that still think Britney Spears is "hot" too.

oh and it is current or recently released cars, so no oldies. i like the s80, think it looks good. but really, who could describe a gs as beautiful anyway?

S4cabriofoxS4cabriofox - 11/7/2006 12:22:55 AM

GS is attractive, but it's not "beautiful". In some colors it's terrible, in others, very nice.

I wouldn't call one car in that class beautiful- and definitely not the S80.

In the ultra-luxury sedan class, the XJ, Quattroporte and A8 are the most beautiful, IMHO. LS, S-Class and 7 Series are designs that won't age very well. Like a good wine, the other three will.

"That is because the LS, S-Class and 7-Series push the envelope in terms of design."

So suddenly, the "understated" LS460 "pushes the evelope", and you like the designs of the 7 Series and S-Class? The LS460 is a far cry from "pushing the envelope". I can't think of one detail on it that doesn't look unimaginative. I showed my wife an ad for it today. I asked, "Boring?" She said, "Well... yeah. I'm sure it's very nice, but it's...boring. It looks like a Lexus." And believe me, she doesn't mean that as a compliment. One of the main objectives in this class is curb appeal. It has to look good to people who aren't interested in cars. The LS simply does not. I almost didn't notice it as it drove by in front of my face.

Cars that you say "push the envelope" are trendy, but like I said, watch them age terribly. Mercedes will completely re-work the next-gen S-Class's design, simply because it's the trend of that year. The 7 Series looks dated, and the LS doesn't do anything new. In 2016, the Audi A8, Maserati Quattroporte and Jaguar XJ will all be renowned for their timeless designs.

It seems to me that this list was created by Eurotrash or someone who aspires to be Eurotrash. I don't believe that they understand the diffences in design themes or different design philosophy.

The list is what it is, I guess the problem is eyes of the beholder, its subjective, but for the asian absense, give me an asian car that has truly broken new grounds in terms of design? One thats not just a rehash of been there done that...One that if you remove the badge could you look at it and say without a doubt the brand? Most of the asain cars all seem to blend together for me, I find myself at traffic lights taking a quick look next to me and can't for the life of me tell if its a Lexus, Infinity, Avalon, ES, Accord without really studying...that tells me a lot about the design..or lack thereof. They are very safe designs, nothing wrong with that, but dont expect them to be though of as innovative or beautiful.

"Add to that that most of you just cannot seem to accept that there are other ideas out there about philosophies in automotive design."

You can't, either. You seem to carry yourself in a higher regard- like you're un-biased. You're just as crazy as the rest of us.

I SAID "YOU'RE JUST AS CRAZY AS THE REST OF US."

I included myself, dimwit.

I know I can be biased. You don't.

You simply try to persuade us that Lexus is the best at everything. I don't think it is, and plenty of others don't. We all have our personal preferences. I'm not ever going to persuade you that the LS isn't that nice, and you're not going to persuade me that the A8 is dated. It's as simple as that.

You guys do have to notice that the list is based on brand new cars introduced of the 2007 model year also. That must explain why alot of other beautys are missed out of the equation.

Most of you love Japanese cars anyway, so of course you have beef with the list.

You probably haven't even heard of half the cars on it anyway.

this is just one person or a group of people's biased opinions. there is no template for a beautiful car, it is all a matter of opinion. i for example think that the q7 is a good looking car whereas many other people dont. most of the cars on that list are "handsome" but saying they're the "most beautiful" is stretching it a bit in my opinion.

Most people don't think some of these cars are beautiful because they haven't seen them on the road.

EOS and Q7 are both stunning- Q7 to a larger extent, but EOS still, nonetheless. Pictures do neither any justice.

The Bentley Continental GTC is a cabriolet. Odd how someone would call it a "Limousine."
