Tesla Discontinues Some Model S And Model X Interior Options So It Can Maximize Production
Over the last few years, Tesla has already simplified its interior options in order to streamline its production, but now the automaker is about to further streamline its options.

CEO Elon Musk urges buyers to secure the interior they want now before they go away.

Last year, Tesla started bundling interior finish options for the Model S and Model X in order to create curated options and streamline its production process.

It resulted in buyers having fewer choices when configuring the interior of the vehicle. However, Tesla says that they are now choosing from pre-selected options put together using data from years of selling the Model S and Model X and curating the interior options.

By the way, If you believe in reincarnation, SAAB, which died about 10 years ago, has seemingly been reincarnated into today's Tesla.

(a) Non main-stream

(b) Quirks (ignition key on floor in SAAB and Model 3 plays "jingle bells" if the driver says "hoe..hoe..hoe").

(c) Scandinavians love them! (SAAB was Swedish and I think that Finn's loved the Tesla's until the point where the government yanked Tesla's favorable tax status at which point Tesla sales may have plummeted)

(d) Near fanatical operator base who chooses to overlook the quirks (that is until they don't, then they stop buying and it goes bankrupt).

(e) Likely to be absorbed by GM sometime in the future and then categorically shut down.

(f) They each reached high-point of popularity with luxury "hatchbacks".

(g) Both SAAB and Tesla have inconsistent quality and oftentimes will require a tow-truck/flatbed to get the problem resolved.

Only HUGE difference is that SAAB's just love the winter but Tesla's battery life declines so quickly in temps < 30 degrees, just like the gas tank of a Winnebago climbing the Continental Divide.

Yup Tesla is the new SAAB.

I hope so.. This site just does not have enough Tesla articles. I hope for 4 -5 more tomorrow. Or I'll just go to a site that is more relevant. Any recommendations? Carbuzz?

Tomorrow Tesla reports the highly anticipated Q3 financial results. Of course there will be more articles about Tesla coming.

If you're against Tesla, don't click.

Seven articles posted today, only two are about ICE - on a Ford pickup (yawn) and the other about Maybach and their plans to take on RR. Three Tesla (less than usual) one Fisker (and one late yesterday) and one about a guy who is known mainly for making vacuums and is going to make an EV. Some site.

Tesla has no real future - Dude

They don't need to introduce new models or even change old one - since they have thousands of unfilled orders for the Base Model 3 - which up until now has been pretty much the among the Largest BAIT AND SWITCH Frauds perpetrated upon AMerican Citizens -

Now that Tesla is profitable, is that going to be your new bullsh*t tagline. Unfulfilled orders? The demand is so high they hundreds of thousands are in line for their car... and that is a bad thing? You know how many companies would kill for demand like that?

I note TESLA - which just announced a new $45,000 version of the Model 3 - has already RAISED the price to $46,000. Only 30%+ over the base version - what a steal - !!!!!

And 40 miles of additional range and premium upgrades. Try to have some objectivity, it is not the same as the base car.

And once again this is shell game. The $45,000 version will have a transaction price well into the $50s. He is doing this now to head off criticism of not yet having a $35,000 version as promised. And remember when he was doing his best PT Barnum impression at the rollout of the Model 3 years ago it was going to be a $35,000 EV with over 300 miles of range. Well, the $45,000 base version has "mid-range" and now if the $35 K base ever materializes if be the "low range" model. Con every step of the way.

It was never, ever sold as a $35k EV with 300 miles of range. On the original announcement the facts were:

1.) $35k base price
2.) 215+ miles and 0-60 of 5.6 seconds for the base model

That is all that was committed

But that model NEVER appeared and so you have a very real example of bait and switch and consumer fraud.

Hilarious. Telsa now at the bottom of the Consumer Reports list in terms of automobile brand quality.

----------

Tesla was a notable underperformer in this year's CR report: "The Model S sedan has dropped to below average, with suspension problems and other issues that included the extending door handle. The first-year Model 3 sedan had average reliability, while the Model X SUV stayed much worse than average, with problems including the falcon doors and center display screen."

Sounds like X was a disaster, the S is around average, the 3 is the best in the lineup (2017 model, current production isn't referenced). That sounds about right. Will be interesting to see how this plays out going forward as the production has gotten better over the past couple years.
