Ice-T was arrested on Wednesday for driving through a toll plaza without paying, TMZ reports. 

He was reportedly on his way into New York, driving a red McLaren sports car, when he failed to pay the toll for the George Washington Bridge. Port Authority police arrested the rapper and actor, who lives in Edgewater, after he was seen driving through the E-ZPass lane. 

Police arrested him for evading a toll and for having an unregistered vehicle.

Ice-T told TMZ that he had forgotten his E-ZPass, since the car was brand new, and that he had seven different tags in his other cars at home.

Au contraire..there are multiple NJ Jersey statues (39:3-29, 39:3-17.1(6), etc) requiring registration of a motor vehicle within 60 days of purchase, displaying your registration, driving without your registration, etc with fines starting at $54 and rising into the hundreds of dollars if contested.

Which Ice-T was on = there are few EzPass barriers in this area on private land
However - YOu will not be arrested for passing through an EZ pass lane without an EZpass - he was stopped for no registration - but something else caused the arrest. Today - on the GWB - you will be billed for the toll if you do not have an EZ pass - many NY and NJ toll booths at Bridge Crossings have been removed. This is law in New York state for instance. THEY will bill you through the mail for the toll.

Once again Tommy Tom Tom YOU missed the point. Pug said "registration of a motor vehicle within 60 days of purchase" was required and I replied as a clarification that such a requirement only applies to cars driving on public roads.

No EZpass and no Plate to photograph means there is no way that the toll can be paid. Hence evasion.
