DRIVEN + VIDEO: So, What's The FIRST Rolls-Royce SUV, The Cullinan, REALLY Like?
You know, a funny thing has happened to me in regards to the Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

At first, I hated it. I despised the concept of a Rolls-Royce sport-utility vehicle and I didn't like its looks. Fast forward to today, however, and I've grown to dig it.

While I am sure no one will be surprised that I still find its exterior design a bit jarring, its interior is yet another work of Rolls-Royce art.

Now that an automotive authority has had some wheel time, I knew I had to share this video review with you. Although I am sure a Land Rover Range Rover would be a better buy — especially from a value perspective — for some folks they just need to make a statement.

No question, the Cullinan will be able to make good on that. Check out the review, below!

Here it is, then, the most luxurious off-roader in the world. The Rolls-Royce Cullinan is a big, bold (oh my, is it bold) 4x4 weighing in at 2.7 tonnes.

Rolls-Royce wants it to be the most luxurious off-roader in the world. It's more expensive than its rivals - only the Bentley Bentayga and Lamborghini Urus get close - and is packed with lavish trim and equipment.

And we've tested it, on-road and off. Join us inside the Cullinan for a smooth, quiet ride.

It reminds me of early Range Rovers — greenhouse glass all around. Tall. Boxy. Great visibility. It's exactly what Rolls Royce should have done when producing an over-the-top SUV. My opinion ...

Very true!

The massive amount of glass definitely is old-school Rover...

I've seen it in person twice and both times came away feeling like I was sitting in one of those Morris London taxi black cabs - that's what the proportions are like.

It might take some getting used to.

I'd go with the BMW version the X7.

No kidding?

So, X7 > Range Rover > Cullinan?

OR, X7 > Cullinan > Range Rover?

The Range Rover and Cunanan are both vile so X7 then nothing. Once the next generation GLS shows up, that will likely change.

Interior nice, exterior not so much. But really shouldn't the Rolls-Royce of SUV's accelerate 0-60 substantially better than 5 seconds! "I would pass you the Grey Poupon old chap but I would have to slow my Benteyga down."

THe Bentley Mulsanne does not come in below 5 seconds

WHen your vehicle weighs as much as this - 5 seconds is pretty good to me- since few of the owners will ever go that fast. THe interior of this car is exquisite - and the vehicle itself outside - looks better in person than it does in pics.

THese Handmade vehicles cannot be compared on most levels especially with a cow catcher Lexus - th Rolls is well above and beyond those other vehicles.

I have recently seen a bunch of Bentley Bentayga's in my area as of late. White and Black versions. One wine coloured. I suppose one of these will show up before long. A Lexus LX570 is likely bolted together better than these or anything else in this new lofty segment.

But you are still driving a LEXUS, I mean Land Cruiser and not a Bentley. That is why people with that kind of money purchase them and not LX570s.

Strange a mainstream 4wd feature such as torque vectoring would be missing. The individual wheel braking is what basic traction control and stability control uses and isn't the same as a torque vectoring differental.

Eventhough, I'm a Mulsanne fan, it's hard not to like the Cullinan. Either in the standard or sport trim. It's what I expected the Bentayga to have been - at least somewhat like it.

You look at the Cullinan, and instantly "take it seriously". It's a mature-looking, capable, ultra-luxury SUV for every occasion. Why arrive in a limo when you could step out of a Cullinan. Unless it's an extended version of the Cullinan.
