Place YOUR Bets! Are Shares of TSLA Heading Up, Up, UP!?
Tesla Inc shares jumped more than 12 percent on Tuesday after long-time critic and short-seller Citron Research said it had a change of heart and is now betting the electric automaker’s stock will rise.

The firm said in a research note that Tesla’s Model 3 sedan is a “proven hit” and serious competition from other automakers for the plug-in car market has not materialized, marking a sharp reversal from its previous stance...

...But a number of Wall Street analysts say the ramp-up, added to other production promises and debt obligations, make some sort of capital raise likely.

Citron’s change of opinion came just a month after the Andrew Left-led firm sued Tesla and Musk, saying Musk fraudulently engineered his abandoned plan to take the carmaker private to “burn” short-sellers. Citron said it was not withdrawing its lawsuit against Musk and Tesla...

@Agent00R- Yes they are headed upwards. Despite the listed issues/threats. They will really jump when the Model-Y is released. Their big semi-truck will find a market too. Nothing succeeds quite like success.

Yes they are going higher, way higher! One of my neighbors just got his Model 3 and I have started to see them everywhere. TESLA shares have been hammered lately but it seems like the tide has shifted for them. Hopefully the marker cooperates, it tanked last week.

As the only real player in its $45,000 segment - The Model 3 has YET to prove it is a proven hit - and we will not know that UNTIL - ALL of the advanced orders have been filled (I am betting they NEVER will be) - and there are choices from other makers - so it will be at least a year - maybe two to see. THere are actually few sales being made to customers of TODAY. In addition - until ALL Evs are priced with proper gross margins - we have no idea if all this is - is a way for some rich people to "Say" they are green.

ANd until we have real competition in the marketplace - at all levels - we will not have any idea if EVS will actually sell to the level that all the Tesla people say they will. Toyota - which is not heavily into EVS - is not a STUPID company - and their reluctance to get heavily in the mix at least must be considered in that context. I don't believe that the market for EVs will be anywhere near as big as quickly as predicted. And I really do not believe the Chevy Bolt would be worth over $40,000 in that market.

And - we already know that Agent 009 is being paid to keep Tesla in the headlines here - it is THAT obvious - and it appears to be spreading to other agents too.

I am unwilling to predict stocks right now -I have gotten mostly out of the market - until at least after the elections(I have done this in the past too). I believe we will be seeing major volativity for the next two weeks. A blue wave would favor EV production for instance. (I am not predicting one)

TomM- Toyota is not in the current game as they are and have been playing the very long game, hydrogen powered cars. Much easier to use existing infrastructure (gas stations could easily adopt hydrogen tanks). And their are no emissions whatsoever besides water.

CC- I am aware of where Toyota is going.

My point was - if they thought the market was going to EVS as heavily as the T company is predicting - they would be doing something - to support the EV market - and the fact that they are not - indicates to me that the EV market will not be anywhere as large as predicted for a Long Time

With all the Tesla coverage on this site I'm getting the feeling that Elon may have given Agent 009 a free Tesla to promote the brand. Agent 009, what is in your garage and driveway by the way?

There are enough questions about the veracity of the 3rd quarter results to get the attention of the SEC and the FBI. It appears Elon may be misrepresenting numbers. he still has enormous debt coming due in November. There is the motive to inflate sales and profits.

All the good news in the world, will not make an FBI probe disappear...

https://www.wsj.com/articles/tesla-faces-deepening-criminal-probe-over-whether-it-misstated-production-figures-1540576636

It also raises the question as to whether the good news is "truthful" good news or just cheap spin and lies.

There is no other automaker currently under investigation by the FBI so draw your own conclusions.

Again, that is not based on any real fact. If they were doing that, inventory levels would have dropped in the last quarter, not increase.

Um, they didn't. That is more or less how many they deliver in a month. Where did you read that they sold 17000 in 2 days?
