I stopped paying attention to the brand when their defect numbers got into the Ford range. Literally! That's no joke for a company whose corporate motto is still "The Best or Nothing." Unless you consider Ford to also be the best, it might be time to reconsider what you think of Mercedes.

Agreed! We had one on order but my daughter had so many problems and recalls with her GLC that we made a different purchase decision.

Actually - that is what happens when you buy high line Premium cars - which generally where the newest technology is introduced. It has happened this way for a Century or more. ANd when new technology is introduced - no matter what they do - the makers rarely cover all the possible grounds with real consumers will us it in - as a result - the High line early buyer gets to be the beta tester for the market. I have always recommended that you buy the second or third year of a premium high end vehicle. I have been lucky with my MercedesMaybach - in that the "refresh" they gave it that I received was largely cosmetic - But My Sister once bought a brand new first year Bmw - and it went back as a Lemon Law car. And as hard it is to believe - my older brother once bought a Mercury Grand Marquis for himself (Remember - at the time he was a L/M dealer) - that eventually Ford took back because they tried for 6 months to fix it - and they NEVER did. According to the engineers - it did things that were impossible.

Since I KNOW that buying premium cars generally results in a less reliable cars - I adjust for that by having several vehicles around - and I prefer buying from old line dealers who have stable service departments.

Well clearly plenty of others are still paying attention to the brand. The reality is that there is not a flawless brand out there. I don’t care what all of the surveys like to claim. One specific brand known to top the surveys was my worst experience with a car ever. And the ONLY car to ever leave me stranded was from a Japanese brand known for “bulletproof reliability”. And the Germans have gotten tons of flack for decades yet the experiences of my families and friends over decades has been no different than with Asian or American brands. Actually the worst from my families and friends have been American brands sorry to say.

Interested in how the EQC comes out performs.

I luv the GLE coupe, so I'd like to see how the GLC coupe fleshes out as well.

I have never liked the GLE/M-class, but this new version overall looks pretty nice. The proportions are spot-on. Gimme a GLE 450 Sport AMG & I'd be very OK.

Also, I see the B-class, but no GLB small/compact CUV. Too bad - the concept really looks like a fun vehicle that should interest a wide range of consumers (25-55).

Remember initial expected demographics for the Scion xB & Honda Element - fun, active, youth-oriented vehicles that empty-nesters & seniors quickly purchased and hurt the youth-oriented aspects. The GLB luxury small CUV can cover a range of consumer demographics with available trim options & accessories while getting more sheep into M-B vehicles.
