#SEMA: Has The Year's BIGGEST Aftermarket Event Turned Into A Truck LOVEFEST?

This week brings us the 2018 SEMA Show. As the year's biggest aftermarket event specifically geared for tuners and shops, it has become one of our favorite auto shows.

That's because it brings personalization and trends forward. Rather than bury these things, they're elevated. Take, for example, some of the trends we've seen emerge at SEMA over the years: Matte paint, wraps and LED lighting.

As consumer tastes have changed over the years, we've noticed that SEMA has started evolving too. Last year, it was readily apparent that there were more trucks and sport-utility vehicles than ever before.

We think that's only going to grow in 2018.

When I was much younger - the largest selling cars on the market were the Full Size cars from Ford, Chevrolet, and Plymouth. they accounted for insane amounts of the market - selling millions of each.

Today - the largest selling vehicles on the market are the Full Size Pick-up trucks - and while the do not dominate the market like the American Full size cars did then - they sell in such numbers that obviously will be supported in the Aftermarket instead of lower selling (Basically ALL) cars. While Crossovers are being considered the dominant force in the market - no single crossover comes close to the Pickups.

ANd while Tesla may dominate the EV market - they certainly have nothing to compete in the Full Size Pick-Up market - and I would predict that this will be the last market to move to EVs -LLLLLOOOOONNNNGGGGG into the Future if ever.
