SUV sales were not enough to offset losses across the board at Audi in October as sales plummeted by 17%
Below are are figures for the month.

This day was going to come but it's arrival is not entirely unexpected. Audi is launching a new A6, A7, A8 and Q3 with a few of the new models just arriving to dealers now. Combined, these models make up a large percentage of Audi sales in the U.S. There simply weren't enough new models to make up for the depleted inventory of existing models.
My belief is this is just an inventory shortage issue and once all the above-mentioned new models arrive, Audi will see continued strong growth in the U.S. and globally.

Lol. No one is really waiting for the ”new” A6 or A8. Maybe the Q3

I am waiting on the new A6 and I purchased the last Q3 as well. Oct was silly riding around the dealership, they had more empty spaces than anything else. I guess they were making room for the 19 models. They should have released the A6 in Oct, A7 in Nov and the A8 and Q8 in Dec.
But really, I don't care how many they sell. I just don't want it flooded like BMW and Mercedes. Its nice not to see your vehicle at every corner. I will be in to drive the Q8 and the A7/A6 though. I might add to the plus column for two of them.

Audi needs to take serious measures for its sedan lineup, especially A6-A8 when it comes to styling, and I understand they are launching new models soon, however, so is Mercedes, BMW, Lexus they are all always launching something soon. The facelifted c class is hitting showrooms, a facelifted E is on the way, and the ALL NEW S Class is just around the corner on the heels of the CLA

And they will all look a like just longer or shorter.

I don't agree but that is funny. I needed a giggle before I deal with this traffic. Thanks Steve

Trendy douche bags leave BMW for Aud.
Douche bags leave Audi for M/B.
Douche bags leave M/B for Tesla
Tesla is now the king of trendy douche bags.

As much as this day was eventually was going to happen, 17% is a huge drop. Even Mercedes' drops in July and August weren’t as drastic through their inventory issues. Yes they are replacing models but the only real volume driver is the Q3. The new A8, A7, and A6, while technologically amazing, have been met with pretty tepid responses based on design.
Audi makes good product. There’s no doubting that. From a engineering and performance standpoint, they are top of the class. Where they seem to fall short is the emotional factor of creating desirability. Their exteriors have become rather tepid starting around 2013. To me even their interiors have become cold machines. Yes Tesla's interiors are the epitome of cold, sterile, and devoid of emotion, but it works because I’m some ways Tesla's cars are not seen as “normal” cars, per se.

it is clear the Tesla Model 3 is hurting A4 sales. Audi should be shaking in their boots as March 2019 approaches and Tesla then reveals the Model Y that will go directly up against Audi's now-bread-and-butter Q5.
If Q5 sales suffer as I predict from the Model Y rollout Audi will be devastated in the US. Not a good time to be an gasoline engine brand these days.

LOL.. He said Tesla and rollout in the same sentence. They can't get ship cars on time, they need to concentrate on that before thinking about competing with the big boys. Also now that real companies are putting out electric cars, Tesla might be the ones shaking.

I guess Silver car is done buying for the year.
I am not an Audi fan at all, however people take a month sales performance too seriously. Sometimes you are just waiting for inventory or a production shift can skew sales. Even terrible weather can affect sales.

To add to mine previous statement...
I am glad Audi is down though. All the new Audi drivers are annoying. In the Chicago area, they think they are bad ass because they have an overpriced VW. Turn signal must be optional on Audi's now. The new money douchebag drives an Audi.

Audi should be very concerned that the A3 is being crushed by the CLA. Not only is the CLA a much less practical car, the A3 has more variants available including the A3, S3, RS3, convertible and e-tron wagonette. The CLA is just the base and CLA45. Imagine when the A-sedan comes along with the new CLA.
