VIDEO: FIRST In-depth Walkaround Of The All-new BMW X7 — Does THIS Have The Chance To RULE The 7-seat SUV Class?
We'll never quite understand what took BMW SO long to deliver a proper, full-size sport-utility vehicle. With SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade and Mercedes-Benz GLS-Class shooting the lights out, it's kind of like shooting fish in a barrel.

Build it and they will come.

Finally, BMW has bestowed upon us the all-new X7 with three rows of seating. From the initial images we've seen it looks to us like BMW took this vehicle very serious. That's because it clearly lives up to the 7 in its nameplate.

Our fingers are crossed that its beauty isn't only skin deep. We hope it provides both a sporting drive and boasts a luxurious ride. BMW succeeded with the 7-Series, so, we think a repeat performance is likely.

That said, if you've been seeking a better look to bring the X7 to life to you, we've got the video you've been searching for. Check out this walkaround of the all-new, 2019 BMW X7, below.

Bye, bye 7 Series, you've been replaced.

It will be very interesting indeed to see just how much this big boy eats the 7 series as well as X5 sales

The 7 Series lacks the opulence of the S Class so in the sedan wars, it's forgotten. With SUVs getting hotter, the flagship SUV is paramount. The Mercedes GLS is an important move. Audi got caught sleeping in this one. The Escalade cannot be redone fast enough.

@MD-Correct. The new Q8 is a complete dud and Audi should be ashamed for such a weak offering. The new X7 looks special and opulent in a BMW style and should do well. Cadillac should have been at this level years ago with the Escalade. US buyers will fork over unlimited dollars it seems for a tricked out SUV. Build it and they will come...

The Q7 and Q8 look like the same vehicle with minor styling variations. The Q8 isn't "coupey" enough and the Q7 is too wannabe "coupey". I'd love to see Porsche do a large, upright, 3 row that has gobs of silky power delivery. With Audi out as an engineering center in VWAG, why waste anything good on Audi?

7-Series will pretty much be overtaken by this on day 1 or 2.

That's not a knock against the 7-Series or the X7, it's just a reflection of the market realities.

You have two flagship high-luxury vehicles, one is a sedan and one is an SUV. There's no mystery as to what will happen.

Exterior is a dead ringer copy of the Lexus LX570 mega-Land-Cruiser SUV.

This is not a handsome vehicle, though it is better looking than the RR Cullinan.

Great interior, not so great exterior but it will have presence on the road.

I have no doubt the X7will prove popular but it doesn’t comport itself as more than a stretched X5. I think the new GLS will overshadow the X7 very quickly

The GLS has great potential to overshadow the X7. Let's face it. The X7 is years late to the market and in no way is it exceptional. In fact, when all is said and done, it's rather prosaic, much like how the 7 Series is graceless in comparison to the S Class.

To each their own.

The X7 is way late, but big + SUV + BMW + America = $$$. It doesn't have to be exceptional at all.

It's well-suited to its position in the market though. The outside is more imposing and "big"-looking than graceful or elegant, but that seems to be what people want in this segment. The interior is a home-run, no complaints there.

That said, it's primary competition, the GLS, is long in the tooth and is not up for a fair comparison right now. And with Mercedes being on a pretty hot streak the past 5 or 6 years, you know they'll come up with something formidable.

JRob you forgot to add that I was a BMW driver for the past 3 years. LOL.

New GLS is on the way, folks.

X7 will hit the ground and GLS will be making its debut in about 12 months I would guess. Given the way the company's products have evolved, I am expecting it to be exceptional.

A coming new Escalade with an Independent Rear will be a game changer in this segment.
I believe that if you are going to get a really big 4x4 - if you have that many passengers - you might as well get a truck based one.

Hints of Land Cruisers and LXs of past. BMW has a winner here while the 7-series will go further into oblivion

BMW should have based the current 7-series on the VFL concept, which featured a large grille and thin headlights. Now the 7's three year refresh will include these design elements. On the X7, I wish BMW would have put wood trim on the upper interior doors, like in my 2016 X5. Other than that a solid A.

The Audi Q8 should steal some sales away from the BMW X7 because although the Q8 is more "coupe" in its design, it's still Audi's flagship with a far better interior than the X7.

Not a snowball's chance in hell of that. The X7 will easily outsell the Q8 that looks too much like the Q7.
