Toyota Readies The Axe - Which Model Would You Not Like To See On The Chopping Block?
Toyota's North America CEO, Jim Lentz, is looking to chop unpopular nameplates from the U.S. lineup as bosses in Japan order him to restore sagging profitability to record levels.

Facing the knife now is any model falling out of favor as customers swarm to crossovers, SUVs and trucks.

In a word: cars.

That spells an uncertain future for such vehicles as the subcompact Yaris, Toyota 86, Lexus RC coupes and even the Prius C hybrid, the five-door Prius' smaller sibling.

I'd kill the GT86 because it sells poorly and is a mediocre design.

Yaris, iA, iM, RC, IS, GS, Prius C, Prius Prime...

Again - with this SAME QUESTION posted before - I will repeat my Answer

Most of those who post here are from the USA - or Canada - where every day cars are larger and more powerful than those in the rest of the world - where they could not afford them. AS a result - the question is - whether these cars do well outside of North America. Most really have no idea what sells well in Japan alone - much less the rest of Asia.

While reducing the number of vehicles COULD be a savings based on support and Advertising - if they are going to produce the cars anyway - bring them here is not such an added expense.

I am for eliminating ALL Toyota made vehicles with those Hideous Cow Catcher Grills - we no longer need to keep the rails free of a roaming herds

Repeating answers is a sure sign of dementia.

Profitability, comes to selling models that make money, not necessarily volume sold, though Toyota's top spot in total profit also requires volume.
