Even When Telsa Wins It Loses: Model 3 Places 2nd In Global Time Attack Super Lap Only To Be Thrownout

On Sunday, a Tesla Inc. Model 3 turned in the second-fastest time in a Global Time Attack Super Lap at Buttonwillow Raceway in southern California, near Bakersfield. While standing on the podium awaiting his award, owner-driver Cameron Rogers was disqualified following a complaint from the second-place finisher.

The complaint, according to Electrek: "Electricity is not listed as an approved fuel."

I am taking the rest of 2018 off as regards Tesla posts. The posts are mostly stupid and basically all say the same thing.

Maybe I should wait until Tesla reports its calendar 2018 financial results before I post on anything Tesla again? That's really the only bit of Tesla news that has any relevance at this point - Tesla's SEC Form 10-K is a legal document and people goto jail if they tell lies in it (unlike Twitter or "leaking" info to "Electrek").

I am going to channel my energy into BMW, Mercedes, and FCA Autospies posts.

Anyone else care to join me in my boycott?

Lol. Tesla haters heads are exploding.

BTW, Model 3 actually had the fastest time of the day but the guy driving wasn't officially participating in the event.

In other words, the same ludites in here who deny Tesla is the future also whined sufficiently at this event to get the actual winner disqualified.

And then on the way home the Tesla that put on the 2nd place track time got 116mpg-e.

Let that soak in again. 116mpg-e.

But they had to tow the car home - and then to a service center- because after the run - the batteries overheated - and shut down the car - so they needed to have the Computer reset to move again - and that can ONLY be done by a Tesla owned facility. ANd that is only one of the problems with the Tesla Sales/Service Module. They deliberately set up their computers so that THEY are the ONLY source of service for them - then they SELL them to you - but YOU cannot choose your own service personnel.

@TomM: LAME! You are too old to repeat this childish nonsense. Enough of that made up shit.

You know that if you are on the track with a Tesla that you are not going to get that mileage unless you refuel. Hell you might not even make it out the parking lot if you made a several passes.
I did like the Model S, they are just old now and didn't age well. The Model 3 is straight ugly to me, but I almost purchased one. Glad I didn't.
The Model X is very nice all around.

Tesla is on to something but I think another company is going to put us over the finish line with battery operated vehicles.

The Tesla guy walked off the podium and declared "You can't stop the future man" - so true!

So I repeat here: you can't stop the future man! And you can fukk off if you don't like it.

So, EVisNow, despite evidence to the contrary that EVs are not profitable nor practical outside warm weather, anyone that disagrees with your - ahem, questionable belief - should F off?

“EV not practical in cold weather”...wtf? It is known that people living in ice cold 0degF weather report 40%-50% efficiency loss... this means my 130mpge Model 3 “only” gets 65mpge worst case scenario...lol.

i’ll take 65mpg any day of the week regardless of weather. Next FUD argument, please.

Rockreid, apparently you need to justify your decision to buy a $58,000 car that gives you the same room and luxury as a $20,000 Coralla. And at 65 mph it will pay for itself in 50 years.

I don't list for a Coralla nor a Tesla 3. They are equal in my book, except for price and build quality.
