Some Model 3 Owners In Cold Climates Are Having Issues

Tesla Model 3 is going to see its first serious winter in the next few months and some owners are already reporting a few important issues in cold weather.

While Tesla officially started deliveries of Model 3 last year, the first few months of deliveries were in sunny California and it took a while for Model 3 to make it to colder climates.

There were some vehicles that made it up north during the last winter, but it could be argued that Model 3 is only now going to see its first full winter – at least for many owners.

Oh no! Don't tell the fanboys on this site as they believe teslas are nothing short of the best thing ever invented and Musk is nerd Jesus!

Actually - it is only a problem if you actually want to get in the car in cold weather and drive somewhere - If you tow the car to a Warmer place - it doesn't happen!!! So - Tesla cannot be responsible for your choice of location - you knew the cars were made in California.

Good posts, guys. But wait, EVisNow and SanJoseDriver both think Musk has re-invented the automobile, is making large profits and will put the automakers producing the 80 million plus vehicles per year our of business! Oh no!

They are upping production to about 7,000 Model 3 each week and just bought a truck company to ensure as many east coast deliveries as possible. Orders placed by Nov 30th will apparently be fulfilled by the end of the year.

Next quarter I think they will be focusing more on Europe and China deliveries (not a single car sent to either region yet) and then Q2 will bring lower cost options to the world... at least a $40k model, maybe the $35k one.

@runbuh, you'll be spending $70K not $35K. That's how the magic happens.

The problems are the same as any car you leave in freezing weather overnight, fortunately you can remotely heat the the car.

This just in: If you drive over a nail in a Tesla, the tire can deflate rendering the car undriveable.

Enjoy your poor engineered Tesla golf carts during the winter.

Enjoy having to go warm up your car for a good 15 minutes via engineblock, while a Tesla can do the same in a matter of minutes...and not even need to open the garage door because of carbon monoxide.

My ICE car warms up in less than 5 minutes and I can fill the gas tank for 440 mile range in 3 minutes almost anywhere.
Plus in 3 Chicago winters no problems opening the doors.

Funny, the Tesla haters are out on this article! Very clever comments! Masterminds. Impressive. Now go back to your Motorola flip phones and pound out some more wisdom to your friends.

pdperry23, it is amazing to me how smug the Musk fanboys are. You overpaid for a poorly built, expensive to insure small car. You can get a better car for half the price, but you prefer to give your money to a conman.
You are so smart.

I don't believe you can get better at any of the Tesla price points. Find me a $55k EV (before incentives) with 310 miles of range, semi-self-driving functionality, and a 0-60 of 4.5 seconds?
