Best Look Yet At The 2020 Ford Explorer - Can It Match The Navigator's Success?
Our best look yet at the 2020 Ford Explorer reveals both hits and misses, starting with the EcoBoost AWD badge on the right-hand side of the tailgate. Through it, the Blue Oval refers to the 3.0-liter EcoBoost V6 with twin-turbocharging technology.

In the Lincoln Continental, this engine develops 400 horsepower at 5,750 rpm and 400 pound-feet of torque from 2,750 rpm, potent numbers for a full-size luxury sedan. But as opposed to the Lincoln, the Ford comes equipped with the 10-speed automatic transmission that’s also found in the F-150, Mustang, and various models from General Motors.

Obviously inspired by the Tesla Model X.

Of course - same hideous Tesla Model X grille - how could anyone miss it unless they are blind?

Actually - I think that it is too much the same to make any difference

I guess I'm kinda more excited to see the Aviator in production trim.

Overall the exterior proportions look good on the new modular platform.

What a STUPID question: "Can It Match The Navigator's Success?"

The Explorer already outsells the Navigator about 25:1.

It has a revised grill and taillights. Why all the fuss. The Explorer is bloated. You can put a football between the front seat and the door panel.

That is a weird quality measurement for comparison.

Did you use a rubber or leather football? Was it fully inflated?

MD, I saw a post earlier with your name spelled with one R and 1 at the end. Is that you or a copycat?

Copycat. It's one of the people here who hate freedom of speech for anyone other than himself. It's supposed to upset me I guess. The irony is that while the person thinks he's getting at me, he is actually painting himself as a wannabe. The dysfunctional psychology of it is delicious. The thing is that I don't care about someone else's petty bitchiness because they can't take the heat I dish out. I'm a fairly open book and will answer pretty much anything.

Looks the same as every other Explorer since the early 90s.

Agree. Ford needed to elevate the styling.

Explorers look badass as cop cars. That's about it.

The link article also mentioned that Lincoln will get a revised MkT in 2020. Does that mean the Ford Flex will live-on as well? Or will the Bronco take its place?

Autoevolution is NOT a trusted source. Could Ford use a new Flex between the Explorer and Expedition? Sure. Would it sell any better than the steady-selling Flex? Who knows.

Dumpsty, LOL, it was a Patriots football, slightly underinflated. My point being is that the Explorer is bloated and much of the space is not useable, like the Taurus it is based on.

understood. i was mostly being sarcastic.

however, I see your reasoning for looking at available space vs the Taurus which has a bit more tighter interior dimensions. Maybe the seats could be wider or maybe the extra space is to leave room for seat adjustments, etc.

It looks like a mom wagon to me whereas the Navigator is beautiful and somewhat different. This could be a Hyundai, or a Toyota and you'd not be shocked either.
