Can Something As Offbeat As The Mahindra Roxor Replace Rural Jeeps?

Can Something As Offbeat As The Mahindra Roxor Replace Rural Jeeps?
There are some who are into cars for the wrenchin’. The idea of spending time, money and sanity resuscitating an old Willys Jeep speaks to them. But some of us just want to drive a working vehicle. If you want classic CJ looks without having to keep an old Jeep alive, the Mahindra Roxor was made for you.

The idea of reproducing a classic, iconic vehicle for use as a toy is by no means new to track dorks. We’ve had kits based on cars like the Lotus Seven, AC Cobra and Ford GT for years. You don’t just buy a new kit Seven when you pick up a new Caterham, Westfield or Locost. You’re buying into decades of knowledge from people running similar cars.

NO - the Mahindra is NOT built for and cannot meet the US standards for emissions - and Rollover standards as well. Unless they plan to purely be an OFF ROAD Farm vehicle - which is limited audience - it won't be coming here.

Tom, it's already here and available. Yes, it is not road-legal, and off-road use only, but at $15k it will sell. Look at what you have to soend for so many other off-road toys, and this isn't all that bad.

I stand BY my statements - which the article confirms
THis vehicles is NOT street legal - TO be within the law - it would have to be trailered to a site for use in the USA.
And that means it cannot replace RURAL JEEPS -

Lesson - When MATT talks - nothing comes out

Rural JEEPS - real old Jeeps are grandfathered in every state - and most states even allow you to drive the ones without doors as well. They are street legal. They are treated just like other antique cars are.

THe Mahindra WILL NEVER BE ABLE to be driven on public roads legally. So - they actually CANNOT replace old real jeeps on the road - because they are not legal to be driven on the road.

That they are available for off-road use does not change the facts Matt.

Just as other brand new versions of classics are produced as "continuation" models and therefore revert back to the laws of the original time frame of the classic, so Mahindra could do for the Roxor. THAT is why FCA is in a royal tizzy over this. What I just said is also well-documented. FCA is so not happy. Liberals with dementia don't bother with the law or the facts, they just spew.

Mahindra Street Legal Kits.
Kinda doubt this would work here in the people's republic of California.
