#LAAutoShow: Rivian Debuts First Ever EV Pickup With An Astonishing 11,000lb Tow Capacity

The dawn of the electric pickup truck is upon us, as Rivian has just unveiled their take on the segment in the R1T, which has been dubbed an ‘Electric Adventure Vehicle’ with a range of more than 400 miles (643 km) and enough room to seat five adult passengers comfortably.

The R1T is one of two all-electric cars that Rivian will showcase at this year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, the other one being a fully electric SUV called R1S.

If any truck mfg wants my biz, I need an 8 foot bed. I would even consider Tesla if they get rid of Musk.

This is bound to be a success given that it's from a company with no experience building cars that several times announced they were about to produce cars but never did and now they plan to do a pickup when even Toyota and Honda cannot seem to break the F150/Silverado code.

10k lb/ft of torque, sounds like my kind of truck. Put some big tires, long travel suspension etc... would be a great alternative to the Raptor :).
