#LAAUTOSHOW: At 220+ MPH Genovation Debuts World's Fastest Street Legal EV

Genovation Cars has brought its fully electric 220 mph GXE supercar to this year’s LA Auto Show, following its CES 2018 reveal from earlier this year.

Since then, the GXE has gone on to earn a Guinness Book of World Records title for a street legal electric car with a speed of 190.48 mph (306.5 km/h) in the standing mile. The GXE is also the first street legal electric car to hit a top speed of 209 mph (336 km/h), although the automaker says it can actually do 220 mph (354 km/h).

That record won't last for long.

I already have the Fastest STREET LEGAL speed car on the road - and I suggest that MOST people here can already go ANY Street LEGAL speed in their cars.

No car can legally go faster than the posted limits and be Street Legal while doing it. Currently - the fasted street legal speed in the USA is on an Interstate in TExas at 85 mph - AND even when several states in the upper mid-west had no "posted" speed limits - they did have a requirement of "safe and prudent". No one can say that doing 220 MPH would have been considered anything other than insane

At some point - the need to be able to boast about a potential that no one would ever try - will wane. I would happily own a Ferrari Portofino - even though it can "Only" do 196 mph - because I cannot do 196mph.
