#LAAutoShow: Get A Load Of The All-new Chevrolet Blazer — Is THIS What GM Needs MORE Of To WIN?
Let's get down to brass tacks, Spies. It was a rough week for General Motors.

After a slew of bad news and hearing retorts from the President of the United States, it seems that once the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show kicked off things calmed down. In other words, there weren't any more plant closures or announcements of lay offs.

Los Angeles Auto Show

I would consider that good news.

Leafing through the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show photo gallery, I was seeking something new and interesting from GM. And, won't you know it, we got you covered.

Officially revealed in September, the all-new, 2019 Blazer was seen in the flesh by us for the first time. After examining the vehicle thoroughly, I just couldn't help but wonder after this week's news: Is THIS more of what GM needs to be doing in order to WIN buyer's attention?

What say you, Spies?

It needs attractive, iconic vehicles like the 63 Stingray kind of impactful amazingness. The Blazer is a cacophony of discordant lines.

GM needs to just go ahead and shut down their SUV efforts as well.

Looks they're trying to be safe. Barely edgy exterior designs that will appeal to a more broader consumer base. They'll have to be smart'(er) about the pricing ranges for the different trim levels.

Otherwise, it does look nice - which it should. It's not a GMC Denali or Cadillac or Buick Ultra. I can definitely dream up an exciting SS version that could burn up any road. But thats not the core audience - who prefers upscale content over some aggressive powertrain options.

Too generic exterior. A Blazer should be big, boxy and butch. This Bill Blass styled effort to gentrify falls flat and untrue to brand's heritage. Another GM miss that will sell on discounts alone.

I WISH it had Bill Blass style. While it’s actually OK and pleasant on the outside it covers no "new roads", compared to a lot of truly ugly competitors. That said it disintegrates once you open the door. GM must have cornered the market on horrible black plastic interiors. They give ZERO extras for the money... the interior is once again an Achilles... Such a shame this company cannot figure out how to win.

That dash and transmission tunnel looks like it was made from cast-off parts from the last Alien movie.

It's pretty terrible looking.

Good effort. It could easily be a Toyota or a Hyundai and that is a good thing. It should sell well to both Mom's and Dad's as well as singles.

Well no one is going to remember/confuse this with the original Blazer looking at this "thing"... While it is not an Historical referencing style, I have to ask, what the hell is the style?
If people buy this ugly product, it is because they loved the Pontiac Aztek and missed having the ugliest car in the neighborhood... the interior, mess...
complete fail.. no wonder they are cutting jobs and closing factories, preparing for the new product to sit until the lease is $99/mo. no money down.

Great looking vehicle, exterior and interior. GM will sell em as quick as they can build them. Good job GM!

I think it is pretty good looking from the outside, one of the better executions of a floating roof design. Nose is nice, I like the bar with the chevy logo look. Also it is not over wrought like some SUVs these days with lines and angles going every direction, pretty clean exterior design. The interior on the other hand looks pretty rough especially in the center console, vertical stack area. Will probably sell well.

A pillars: land Rover, Mini Cooper, Scion TC, Ford Explorer but only the Kia Soul's a pillars would be the copycat since it is the only one Korean allowing everyone else to get away with it. Floating roofs, Nissan Maxima, Jeep,. Also when the 2nd generation Tucson came out it got accused of copying the Murnao. Yet it's ok for this to have the same belt line as the Nissan Murano since it isnt Korean.

Also add the 2020 Lincoln Aviator also has Black A pillars too

This thing is a total mess inside n out!!

No style just a bunch of cut edges with no theme or consistency... Interior is a mess n looks stupid with round air vents.

Speak of the Lincoln Aviator is beautiful design inside n out...!!

I saw this SUV in person and have to say it looks great! Inside and out, great attention to detail. I'm sure it will sell well!
Amazing how many critics this site has, no matter what comes out it's automatically hideous and won't sell for whatever reason.

So when this is a sales dud will you admit you were wrong?

So the new Bronco gets tuff and the new Blazer gets wussified.

I guess Blazer is not derived from Trailblazer but from something you buy from Burlington Coat Outlet for $14.97.

Maybe, I'll probably avoid it if you ever brought this up again.

Glaring functional flaws are recessed HVAC controls and rear visibility; rear door window, C pillar and fat hatch verticals.

It looks even more 7nderwhelmng in person I’m afraid. When I saw the first pics of this a few months back I was intrigued. But now after seeing it in person it just doesn’t do it. And that interior looks awful.

I am actually sure that the Blazer will outsell any EV SUV by a wide margin. Actually - in person - this vehicle looks pretty good,. I think it will sell very well if they market it.

When I saw it up close, I thought "the bad old days of Pontiac are back" with all the "surface excitement" and the decidedly low rent interior.

On a side note, the LA Auto Show was another snoozer. The posse and the teenager had fun, but nothing there to write home about.
