#LAAutoShow: Lexus Goes ALL IN With The LC500, Shows It In Yellow — Is It AWESOME or AWFUL?
Lexus is a bit like a slippery eel. Sometimes they're just hard to get a handle on.

Take, for example, the LC500 it brought to the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show. Painted a very vibrant shade of yellow, it is unlike any other LC we've ever seen.

Los Angeles Auto Show

Well, except for the 2016 SEMA Show car that was developed by a tuning house.

What's peculiar about the latest yellow LC is that when I just checked the company's configurator, I noticed there is not a yellow paint you can spec. Is this a one off? Is it a special edition? Just a show car?

Curiosity aside, we want to know: Is the yellow Lexus LC500 AWESOME or AWFUL?

I've seen one of these on the road, ever.

They're definitely not a dime a dozen.

I've seen a handful on the road since launch.

Keeping one hidden is tough. I'm considering firing one moron who took a friend of his to our lock-up where we keep special order-cars waiting on delivery. He uncovered the one I have hidden there and was showing it off. That move bought him my scrutiny of his every move from here on in. At this time of year, we have "December to remember" purchases for lack of better term that we store until delivery--usually Christmas Eve--but this bozo just LOST that lucrative extra money (our sales people often make the delivery).

Would like to see a picture... after the 25th of course. Nice present for sure!

Front looks like something from Pokemon. Back looks like someone kicked it in the ass. Has every cliché in the design book no matter which color you choose. Go Lexus!

Black wheels are simply boring... it'll go better with wheels that match body color

Add black racing stripes!!! I have always been partial to yellow cars since the second car I owned was a 1970 Z/28 in Daytona yellow with black stripes... the Banana.

It is like Lexus still wants to be making the LFA but doesn't really want to continue it because it did not sell well enough. So this is a halfway measure. I can't see it paying for itself as I don't see it doing more than a new hundred cars in the USA.

IT seems a little small for a NYC cab - and cabs do not make big money in NY anymore thanks to UBER. I don't think is will sell well for that purpose

TomM, I'll take this NYC cab over your "premium" 1,2,3,4 series and A,B,C class anyday.

This car just continues to not push any buttons for me. I've seen it in all colors from black, white, blue, reddish/brownish, and red. Oddly, as garish as they are the styling details just don't stand out to me. It all feels gimmicky and trendy.

I can never tell the difference between a LC and a RC. I have seen what I assume to be an RC in bright yellow parked in a doctor's space on Level 2 of the west parking garage at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, California (in case any of you want to go look). Oddly, I rather like the yellow.

I wasn't too impressed when I saw pictures, but in person the car looks great. I would like to see a performance version, and the exhaust note is fantastic.

Someone is getting a black one with black wheels soon.
