That G class is a BEAST and will keep its foot on Rolls/Bentley’s Neck and will still get backup from the upcoming GLS Maybach.

GLC is killing it, Glad to see healthier E Class sales, the GLE refresh couldn’t come soooner.

Merc’s Balanced lineup will provide it stability for years at this rate, when your high end and low end are both best sellers, you have truly hit a sweet spot in the market place.

The only people comparing the Maybach GLS to Rolls Royce is the Mercedes Benz and their fans. Nobody is going to cross shop this with the Cullinan.

Lol, try telling that to the same BMW/VW execs who are annoyed by the Maybach S dipping in Rolls/Bentley Sales....

In 2016, Mercedes Sold more Maybach S 600s in China Alone than Rolls Royce did Worldwide, read it and weep, there’s a reason Mercedes green lit the GLS Maybach and an all new Stand alone Maybach vehicle. It took them 2 times but this launch was genius, introduce as a sub brand first, educate the consumer, create demand, and build a lineup from there

Yea so, that doesn't mean the cars are getting cross shopped and 4k units in sales is pretty much record year for RR due to the hand built and bespoked nature of the car. Volume is not RR goal. I don't think that MB sold more S600 Maybachs in China than all of RR is anything to brag about. Playing at this level is more about exclusivity and customization. I think when somebody wants a RR there going to get a RR. It's like people don't cross shop a Patek Philippe with a Rolex.

U asked for the numbers, now you want to talk Rolex, just as you said it doesn’t mean their being cross shopped, I could say it doesn’t mean they aren’t being cross shopped.

The Maybach S Sedan, cabriolet, coupe are now included in every comparison of the Rolls/Bentley

I talk facts....not hypotheticals...but I appreciate the banter

Oh and these are companies at the end of the day, businesses, regardless of the 4K units Rolls sold worldwide, the 6k Maybach sold in China alone, signals that yes Maybach is eating some of Rolls lunch...period

I did as for numbers and you gave me volume number. Not clientele cross shopping number.

Honda sale more crossover than Benz does that mean they are crossed shopped and Honda is comparable.

The only comparison test I could find from any legitimate publications between RR and Maybach were the previous Maybach which was is now defunct.

Once volume at this level doesn't make one a competitor. The Maybach is a top of the heap luxury cars, but the RR is the uber-luxury another level indeed. That is why the Patek/Rolex comparison.

Mercedes is doing so much right at the moment. Very few missteps in the past 2 or 3 years and the future looks just as bright with the strong new GLE and upcoming GLS. Can't imagine where their sales numbers will go once the A-Sedan hits the market. It has already been met with pretty positive reviews.

their design sucks but interior tech is great. now passing audi except for weak nav display. the 2019 GLE might have my name on it. the interior makes the Q5/7 look lame at the moment. of course its not available until the summer so...
