EXCLUSIVE! DETAILED Interior Pics Of The All-new Porsche 911 You Will NOT Find Anywhere Else!
The 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show has come and went, and with it the blockbuster debuts. One of them was the all-new Porsche 911.
From what I can tell, at the 30,000-foot level, it was everything folks were hoping for. Although we're sure some purists will take issue with the pop-out door handles and new sweeping LED rear taillight, the new look wasn't rejected.

The real highlight of the all-new 911 (992) is its interior. Porsche's designers clearly spent a lot of time completely changing it to bring it up to speed with the 21st century.
It no longer looks dated.
Even better news: A manual will also be shipping. Phew, I thought we were just going to be stuck with knobby automatics.
Having said that, we wanted to make sure you caught all the little details that others missed. In the collection of photos below, you'll see just what makes the all-new 911's interior special.
Let us know your thoughts!

Beautiful - craftsmanship harks back to a different era.

To me the shape and the detailing is ugly and everything looks ill fitting. I honestly could not believe my eyes when I saw the poor fit and finish. The plastic is horrifically cheap looking.

There are so many things that I don't like about the 992 interior but leading the pack is the PDK shifter, which has been dubbed the "Braun (razor) shifter. Even though my current 991.2 has PDK, I use the shifter frequently when in manual mode. Because Porsche paddle shifters are attached to the steering wheel and not the steering column, there are times when using the PDK autostick is more convenient (like hard turns). I don't see the 992 Braun shifter falling "readily to hand".
The 992 continues the 911 creep into more GT then sportscar. Funny thing about Porsche nomenclature is that the cars that are named "GT" are the ones that retain more of the true Porsche sport car heritage.
Will I buy a 992? Yes, because for all my dislikes, I haven't found anything yet that drives as well and as reliably as a Porsche 911.

Another dislike: The infotainment unit is certainly advanced, but it doesn't belong in a sports car. This 992 is more like a 2 door Panamera.
On my 991.2, I can select normal, sport, sport plus from the small rotating knob on the steering wheel. On the 992 you can turn the knob and then select the mode on the touch screen. Eyes off the road.

Au contraire. A Porsche interior oozes a sense of occasion, a man bonds with fine machine feeling, quality materials with a quality build. Porsche's are expensive but you get what you pay for. If you doubt it, just go to a show room and sit in one. They may not be everyone's liking but they are a car of substance with great provenance.

It is nice and all, but Porsche seems to want to add as many shapes and pieces to the interior of its cars as possible. The centre console is a good example. As are the doors and the main dash. It can be complex or a simple design. It's up to the manufacturer. I think they can do a bit better.

Just not feeling this. Maybe it's the color combo (which I personally hate in almost any car - saddle brown with walnut wood). Maybe it's the lighting. But not liking what I'm seeing here.

Here's my take
Mediocre plastic wrapped with very nice leather that is price 300% of what it should be. Nice additional wood priced at 500% of what it should be. Fake metal, cheap plastic bits mixed in, a rear view mirror right out of a Jetta, and unbelievably crap cupholder from the 90s.
Welcome to Porsche.

I would say from the pictures the new interior is better looking than the 991. But again that's not saying a lot. I was not very impressed with the 991 interior. I still think compared to a 993 the quality does not look like its there.
