ALL Attention Is On Nissan's Carlos Ghosn As Company Seeks To Block His Access To One Of His Homes
Nissan said it was seeking to block former chairman Carlos Ghosn’s access to an apartment in Rio de Janeiro, citing a risk that the executive, arrested and removed from his role for financial misconduct, may remove or destroy evidence.

Brazilian-born Ghosn has been detained in Tokyo since his Nov. 19 arrest on suspicion of conspiring with former Nissan Representative Director Greg Kelly to understate his compensation by about half of the actual 10 billion yen ($88 million), over five years from 2010.

Tokyo authorities extended their detention until the maximum Dec. 10 for the alleged crime...

I hope Nissan uses this to extricate themselves from the idiots in France.

Ghosn is being detained in a Japanese holding facility without legal representation and the apartment in Rio is owned by Nissan who has brought the charges. The question for me at this time is "Who on behalf of Ghosn is seeking
access to the apartment and why?" Supervised access for a legitimate reason would seem an obvious resolution unless something nefarious is really going on.

Given that a crime has allegedly been committed, the authorities should access the apartment not Ghosn's goons nor Nissan.

Being detained without legal representation is OK under the law in Japan.

This is a mess and I think that Ghosn is clearly the primary part of the problem but I think at some point he becomes a victim of the Japanese legal system.

There is a fine line between just imprisonment and a 'shake-down'. If you read the accounts in the New York Times and Wall St Journal, it seems like Japan is bordering on holding the guy hostage.

If it extricates Nissan from Renault, I say go for it.

How can Ghosn enter any of his houses if he is in jail in Japan.

Would that make either car compnay better? and why did Ghosn want to merge with Mitsubishi? I believe that Japan put some money in the deal, but still!

Facts:
Nissan is 60% of the revenue generation.
Nissan is FAR ahead of EV research than Renault.
Nissan's quality plummeted under Renault's control.
Ghosn was trying to merge Nissan with Renault to have control of the 60% be completely under a minor member (Renault).
If anything, Nissan should have been given control of Renault.
Mitsubishi was just to protect jobs.

I think we need to get "Free Carlos" t-shirts and protest and burn things because "Oh the humanity!"
