Growing Old? Toyota Releases Yet ANOTHER Supra Teaser, A Car That Should Have Been In Dealers A Year Ago
Let me tell you how my day’s been so far: I wake up, make some coffee, take the dog on a walk, fire up my laptop in search of news, and I discover that not only is the new 2019 Toyota Supra not revealed full after years of shadowy teasers, but that there’s another, new shadowy teaser out today.

I am so damn tired, everyone.

I think that Toyota is going to realize the unless the Supra is priced well (<$50,000) the target market is not going to be able to afford it and thus won't care.

Conversely, if they price it for Nissan GTR money $80,000+++++ then it will be fawned over by the motoring press and sell in the 1,000/year range like the MB SL series.

This is a tricky launch to execute.

If a Mustang GT can obliterate it on every performance parameter for $35K--and that WILL be the case--then the Supra is dead on arrival.

This is what happens when the initial consumer research was botched. And then during development, the market swung out of general interest for this type of vehicle. Now, the partnership has to find a way to make the program relevant. Good luck.

It isn't a Toyota. It will be odd looking. It will be overpriced. It will not sell.

This thing better be as beautiful as an Aston. Faster than a Huracan. More fleet footed than a 488. And priced like a Miata.

Otherwise, no one cares.

If they want this to be a success they need to start it at 45K for the 4 cyl and around 50K for the V6. If they price it in the high 50s/low 60s like rumors say they will have issues selling it.
