DRIVEN + VIDEO: The FIRST Review Of The All-new BMW 3-Series On ROAD And On TRACK Publishes — So, What Do YOU Think?
The BMW 3-Series has set the luxury benchmark for decades. It's the go-to choice for a varied demographic.

It's aspirational. It can be a daily driver. It can be a beater.

But, like everything, the 3-Series has aged and we're not convinced the four-door formula is going to be strong going forward. The Bavarians need it to be though. That's because the 3'er is its top selling product.

Clearly, BMW has decided to go with an evolution rather than a revolution and played it safe in its all-new 3. Another questionable move.

"Why fix something that ain't broke," some will say. Well, when everyone's swinging for the fences you have to adjust your strategy and deliver the goods.

While we've been lukewarm on the all-new 3, we wanted to see what YOU make of the FIRST video review of the all-new 3-Series. Is it getting your attention? Is it just more of the same ol', same ol'?

What say you, Spies?

BMW has sold more than 15 million examples of the 3-Series since the car’s 1970s introduction. It is both talisman and bread & butter for the brand - and is now entering a seventh full model generation.

The new ‘G20’ version, on sale in the UK in March 2019, will come with a familiar choice of engines & trims. Watch our video review for impressions of the big-selling 320d on the road, and of the range-topping M340i xDrive on track at Portimao.

“Honor is restored” he says and I think he’s right. Have to see what the new C looks like.

I agree, unfortunately for the 3 series it’s kind of a case of too little...too late... first I will say design wise, it’s a handsome vehicle, however like the interior, there’s nothing that excites me about it or is significantly different.

I think this 3 series is more what lies beneath the surface, driving dynamo wise, which is awesome in a perfect world. However with the Tesla Model 3 and C Class pretty much dividing up market share, and the new C and more affordable model 3 around the corner, BMW needs to bring some more excitement back to the 3 series.

Let’s get a more passionate interior going for starters and maybe a bolder design exterior wise further distinguishing it from predecessors...time will only tell

The 3 has some of its mojo back. Unfortunately the interior is still a letdown and is behind its rivals in material and design. Maybe buyers won't care now that it drives well again.

Unfortunately for BMW the new 3-Series isn't going to help it catch Mercedes-Benz in global sales. While it may driver better than the previous generation, most buyers don't really care so much about how it drives anymore. It doesn't help BMW that the interior design and quality is still far behind rivals and the exterior hasn't changed much.

The new 3-Series is an overall miss by BMW and its interior already lags the current generation Mercedes C-Class and Audi A4. When the new C-Class and A4 debut with their updated interiors, BMW's poor interior quality will be further put on display.

Too contrived. You're trying a little too hard, BMW.

330i starts at $41K, while M340i starts at $56K. What trims are BMW going to fill that huge gap with? Maybe a 335i with 320 hp at $47K? Sounds good to me...

$35K is a more appropriate starting point given how rapidly the sedan market is cooling. DROPPING the price will mitigate sales slide.

Nice exterior. Depressing interior.

Interior wise it's no better than an Alfa Giulia or a Jaguar XE. Exterior wise it does look sharper than before and of course it drives better. Thing is people live inside the vehicle and they are paying serious money for this. You have to say that Audi and Mercedes and Volvo put BMW to shame when it comes to interior design. Frankly if I don't care about the ultimate driving experience why would I choose this over a Volvo S60 for my daily work commute?
