DRIVEN: Audi E-Tron GT Concept, Does It Have The Chops To Compete Head To Head With Telsa?

Driving a one-off concept car is, unfortunately, often less glamorous and exciting than you’d think.

Time behind the wheel can be very restricted, sometimes to a couple of hundred yards in a straight line or two laps of a car park at 10mph. You’re surrounded by minders who are understandably nervous at the thought of a careless buffoon climbing behind the wheel and wrecking a near-priceless piece of their brand’s design history, and any hint of rain always stops play.

There are rare exceptions, though, and our time driving Audi’s new E-tron GT was one of them.

This AUDI is 10X better in every aspect than a TESLA but its not in production and the price seems to be much more than a top of the line model S, this might be an issue.

That and the Tesla S will be due for a refresh or all new model very soon...part of the benefits of being first, everyone else is playing catch up

umm price really wasn;t a factor for those that bought the modelS in the first place. lets see what the price actually is when its official in another year but looks wise and interior wise, its way ahead of tesla.

So what Audi is doing is very smart from a marketing position. They are essentially making their EV's look much like a normal production gasoline vehicle both inside and out. This is unlike what Tesla is doing. I think in the long run it will translate into greater sales than Tesla. At 75 to 80 grand it is also in Tesla price ballpark.

Woops I'm talking about the E Tron SUV that just came out. As for the GT I think its going up also against the Porsche Taycan in addition to the Tesla.

Why do so many manufacturers outside of Tesla think that "EV" equates to "busy styling"? The front end of this GT is awful.
