TEASED! All-new Glimpses Of The Upcoming Kia Telluride — Is It Lighting Your FIRE Or Is It Just ANOTHER Stinger Waiting To Happen?
In recent years, I have to say, concept vehicles haven't been all that inspiring. I am not quite sure why but it seems as though that some of the latest concepts just fall flat.

Perhaps designers are just feeling a bit neutered?

That said, when we first set our eyes on the Kia Telluride, well, we fell in love. From the get-go, it's been a vehicle for us that really showed us what Kia is capable of when it wants to try. But, when I first saw it, the first thing I said to Agent 001 was "Well, how watered down do you think it will get?"

While that's an inevitability with all vehicles moving from concept to reality, Kia just seems to execute worse than other automakers. The good news is the the all-new Telluride has made appearances in production form at a fashion show and at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show (LAAS). Sure, it's covered up a bit but it appears this is the real deal.

And, our friends at Kia released a teaser clip featuring both the concept and production vehicle. In it are some glimpses of what's to come.

At the end of the clip I couldn't just help but wonder: Is the Telluride going to be a sport-utility vehicle that people clamor for OR is it just going to wind up being another Stinger — a vehicle that generates buzz but, ultimately, doesn't deliver and costs too much?

Frankly - it looks like somebody spent too much time at a SUV Aftermarket Show

Right this second - I believe we are in for some rough roads ahead for Vehicle Sales - and while I cannot say for certain - I believe this is a way to increase the price of an otherwise normal SUV - and I don't think people are going to be willing to spend extra money to look like that.

Looks a lot better than many other companies' offerings.

It should look exactly like the concept minus the tacked on trinkets. There is nothing show-car-ish about this concept. It is ready for sale.

meh, will make a decent soccer mom vehicle for those that can't afford something better.

Once they strip all the auto-show crap off of it, it will show as a premium, large near-luxury SUV. Kia has its problems, marketing-wise, but its a nice vehicle

Strip away the nonsense on this example and it's a decent-looking SUV. Definitely better than the Escalade-wannabe but not exactly a head-turner.

I like it... I think they'll sell very well... Not for me but for a lot of folks. They're doing a lot of things well and as a company are determined to be a player, globally. They're aggressive and want to win... I admire that as 30 years ago they barely existed. What they've accomplished is remarkable and appear to have taken much of it out of GM's hide.

LOVE their names, Palisade, Telluride, Stinger... very creative and sends a message vs XT? CT%... I'll bet this has a terrific interior as well and probably will cost less than most GM comparable models with crappy, cheap black plastic interiors...

I actually think the Palisade will sell more than the Telluride. I think having them both is a colossal mistake.

You don't think it will work like the Tahoe/Yukon? Both seem to sell well despite being virtually the same vehicle. Though in truth, I don't know the sales numbers but see them both everywhere.

Jazzyjazz, the coming recession is already in the cards. It has been the longest expansion in history. The end is coming due to a needless trade war, Republicans dramatically increasing the deficit and impulsive tweets causing chaos, which markets do not like.

I for one, am tired of these faux 4wd vehicles that are dressed up as if they're capable of conquering the Rubicon Trail yet have 22" low profile tires, fake armor, and fake ruggedness. Make it roomy. Make it comfortable. Make sure it's got all the electronic safety nannies standard. And price it well.

Otherwise if your going to make it look like it can do real 4 wheeling, make it a real 4 wheeler with functional bits. Oh yeah, that's called a Jeep Wrangler.

I've never heard of this website but to call the Stinger a failure or a disappointment shows the writer knows nothing about the automobile industry.

Indeed. The Stinger is selling predictably and surprisingly without steep discounts. It's a great car. I'm driving one at the moment and it's easily the equal of an A4/C Class/3 Series.
