DRIVEN: How Well Does The Lamborghini Urus Stack Up In The Urban Jungle?
Back in the late 1970s, Lamborghini embarked on a project unlike any other in the company’s history. In an unlikely move, the Italian sportscar manufacturer decided to try its hand at producing a light duty military vehicle similar to the AM General Humvee. Three prototypes – the Cheetah, the LM001, and LMA001 – were produced from the effort, but the rear-engined brutes never found favor with government buyers, and the project was eventually shelved.

Keen for a return on the investment, Lamborghini decided to change tack, taking the utilitarian chassis of the LMA001 and mating it to the V12 engine and five-speed gearbox from the Countach supercar to create the civilian-market LM002. Known colloquially as the “Rambo Lambo,” roughly 300 of these beasts produced in total between 1986 and 1993.

Can’t wait for these things to depreciate like crazy in a few years...maybe consider it around the 50-70k mark

I think the Touareg was discontinued in 2017 and they replaced it with one of the most boring and blandly designed vehicles today, the atlas

The Atlas--in spite of its shortcomings--is far superior to the Touareg.

The Urus/Uranus stacks up just like the Touareg, Q7, Q8 (its basically the same vehicle as the Q8), Cayenne, and Bentayga.

I have yet to see a Uranus on the road - though the same one has been on the floor of my local Lambo dealer for what seems like months now.

I have seen one on the road in downtown Toronto. It was red. It won't be mistaken for anything else.

Being that the world is now full of 7 figure hyper cars that have trouble with driveways and other tiny bumps, Lamborghini could likely produce a new LM002 with a V12 and sell a good number of them to folks with money to burn. Urus for Mom, and a crazy Rambo Lambo for Dad.

I think this thing is fantastic! Considering most Lambos/Ferraris/etc are driven in urban environments, this is the perfect Lambo for today's market. Who wants to ride around in a cranky uncomfortable 2 seater that's 2 inches off the ground and has no room for your groceries, when you can run around in this thing?

Pickup up the kids in your Lambo? Check.
Run to the golf club in your Lambo? Check
Commute to your office in your Lambo? Check
Drop off your laundry at the cleaners? Check
Impress your neighbors? Check

All you need is a -------------------------------------> B I G C H E C K

@PUGPROUD There is NO REASON it had to be that ugly.
