Chinese Automaker To Set Up Shop In US And Build EV Sportscar

Every few weeks, it seems there’s another Chinese manufacture promising to wriggle into North America. This week it’s Qiantu Motor, which intends to build the K50 electric sports car with help from California-based EV firm Mullen Technologies. According to a preliminary agreement published on Mullen’s website, the American firm will homologate, assemble, and market the electric sports car in North America in 2020.

Simon Lei, Qiantu’s Head of Product Planning, previously expressed the brand’s intent to sell the model within the United States last April. Naturally, we’re always a little skeptical of these kinds of claims, given China’s track record on the matter and the ongoing trade war.

Front is not bad, interesting detail and 2-tone body... but the rear is kinda awful and reminds me of old TVRs

Rather than Speculate over things we do not know - there is one thing we DO know about the car - It is not yet being produced.

In this market - just like $35,000 versions of another brands vehicles - Don't Hold Your Breath!

"looks like a piece of shit. Probably packed with stolen tech and knock off parts. Probably has fake brakes."

don't be fooled by mainstream media.. Technologywise things in China has surpassed USA in many areas.. In areas like art/design though they are still behind hence the obvious copying, lacking in originality. But that soon will change.. the west must not rst on it's own laurels because once China invests in its art/design heavily, they will be a serious compettition to all...

Looks like the cloned the front of an Acura NSX. Still, it's not bad looking. Probably has all sorts of tech they stole from Western companies though.

Chinese much prefer SUV's than sports cars for comfort and poor condition of their roads outside big cities so why not build this car in the largest market for it and avoid both tariffs and other financial costs like the other foreign manufactures.
