This Or A Crossover? Entry Level BMW Z4 To Come In Just Under $50,000

As most BMW fans, we were a bit disappointed when we learned the all-new Z4 M40i would carry an MSRP of $64,695 — plus the $995 destination charge.

However, not everything is as bad as it seems. We say that because the price of the entry-level variant got leaked earlier this month and it’s about $15k cheaper. We’re talking about the 2019 BMW Z4 sDrive30i, which starts from $49,700, excluding $995 destination and handling. That means you can get an all-new Z4 for a little over 50 grand.

Price it at $35K and it would actually interest me.

It really needs to be priced like a Miata to be of any value. $30K base 4 cylinder, $35K six, $45K V8. And yes, it needs a V8 option.

A 300hp I4 trim will deserve $45k. I6 trim should start with 400hp

the market placement on this is so stupidly wrong it's mind-blowing.

I totally agree with Darringer's pricing. Plenty of monied BMW owners would add one to their fleet at those levels just as a weekend toy.

This vehicle should be an entry-level "BMW is fun" marketing tool designed to be cross shopped by people with Mustang/Camaro money to spend.

And before the old alcoholic writes an essay about how people do not cross shop on prices, ALL the demographic research shows that. Moreover, even after they decide a type, they still cross shop on money.

Food for thought, in Britain police cars mostly Ford Mondeo, BMW 3-series and X5s. I find it difficult to assign value to a car company that devalues their brand by selling reduced-priced cars to the police department, then inflating the prices in the US to sell the same models as Luxury Cars...The real price of a BMW should be 20-30k less than what Americans pay.

A Z4 for ~$65k..this is S5/6, E400 & M3/4 territory...just saying

What's even more interesting is that in the UK if a person tries to outrun the police, the police throw their hands in the air and say "Well we can't do a pursuit because that would damage self esteem." So the need for speed is ZERO.
