Feast Your Eyes On THIS: Alfa Romeo Says It WILL Build A New Supercar
It's been a while since Alfa Romeo offered a supercar – since the Spider version of the 8C Competizione finished its brief production run in 2010. But according to the latest, it wants to make one again.

“[On] capital market day, we did say that we were planning on doing an 8C,” Alfa Romeo chief Tim Kuniskis said, according to AutoGuide. “We said we’re going to build a supercar.” Though he declined to offer any further details, the confirmation of a new supercar in the works from such a storied Italian marque sure does sound enticing.

Although this idea generates press, I would not waste company resources on this venture at this time. I would instead look to building a bigger sedan (middle model) and a bigger SUV (middle model). I would even consider a Mito smaller CUV / Hatch Back to bring younger buyers into the brand. Smaller cars don't sell all that well in the USA, but they do in Canada.

This is exactly what Alfa Romeo should NOT build. With the Giulia and Stelvio failing to deliver anywhere near the sales projections FCA had hoped for, a niche vehicle is what not to do.

Alfa's sales are running 1/4 the projection and that is utter failure.

A restyle of the Giulia to get rid of some of its generic Infiniti/Mazda derived styling and a $5K move down market is a much needed Hail Mary.

And I sell Genesis cars now?

But even if that were true, it does not disprove my statement that "Alfa's sales are running 1/4 the projection and that is utter failure."

Use hate speech against me all you want, but the facts are the facts.

Spend the development money on quality control upgrades. Can you find an enthusiast's car magazine that didn't have an Alfa on loan for review that didn't brake down?...me neither! Had a '68 Duetto that drove and handled beautifully but had to giggle the points every other trip, a real pain. Some things never change.

I loved GTV6 mongrel with an LS under the hood we did.

If you want a Giulia without the hassle, get a Dodge Charger...the car that the Giulia was bastardized from through the Maserati version of the LX.

Holy Christ. Looks like it was built from Legos. Only worse.

I'm reading that Alfa reliability is quite competitive among European cars. Granted that is a low bar compared to Hyundai or Toyota.

You need to stop reading FCA advertisements. A look at dealer warranty claims will handily show the opposite.

I like the Giulia inside and out and they are offering tremendous deals. I just cannot see taking the risk given the quality issues.
The G70, although not as good looking seems a better bet once they are able to improve their model 3-like launch.

Do a two-year lease on a Giulia. But don't buy one.

What is your take on the G70?

Our Pussy Grabber in Chief once surmised that one might need to win an election first before running for President, Alfa Romeo trying to build a supercar falls somewhere along that logic.

PS I duly note that the hypocrites who lost their minds [supposedly] when I was supposedly inappropriate and who were calling for me to be banned are DEAD SILENT on Holydude's inappropriate comments. #HYPOCRITES they are.
