Make YOUR Christmas WISH! Are You Hoping For An All-new BRONCO, DEFENDER, CORVETTE Or 4-Dr MUSTANG?
As we're rounding the bend here into 2019, we're starting to see through the apex. Chatter is at an all-time high and although the 2019 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) is expected to be rather tame this year, there's a bunch of big-time debuts we're looking forward to.

We actually have our fingers crossed for some surprises this year.

With Christmas just one day away and Santa Claus dropping off presents tonight, we figured we'd take this one chance to do something special. Hear what the Spies' Christmas wishes are for the coming year, but of course!

Having said that, we're targeting a few prime time launches that are expected to unfold in the next 18 months. Though any one of these could pop any day now, there's absolutely zero guarantees in the wacky automotive industry.

So, we've got to ask: What's YOUR 2018 Christmas wish? What would YOU like to see first? The all-new Ford Bronco? Land Rover Defender? C8 Chevrolet Corvette "Zora"/Manta Ray? Or, the wild card, the four-door Ford Mustang?

Bronco >>> If it looks like the 2004 or was that 2014 prototype. Everything else is 1 big yawn except for "Classic Vette Z06"

The Bronco and 4 door Mustang will be especially delicious...but where are the Bronco prototypes?

My wife has been too busy to realize that her Christmas gift is parked in the garage.

We're wondering the same thing...NAIAS?

What did the wifey get for Christmas?

I got her a black Lexus LC. She's wanted one for ages, but thinks they are too extravagantly priced. I sold two cars in my collection (Ford Thunderbolt replica and Hemi Dart replica) and plowed the cash accordingly. She thinks her RCF is in the shop for a recall.

Very nice Matt, what was her color? She see it yet?

From the minute she saw the LC she loved it. When she saw it in black she went nuts. She saw it for the first time last night was a gob smacked.

She's a car keeper and I'm a car seller. She has her two most desired cars: an Escalade and the LC.

I'll sell something to buy something and will get rid of something if I can make a profit. When the 2015 Mustang came out, I diverted a GT to me a short time later a guy in a parking lot asked if I'd sell it. I said I'd do it for $10K over list and a few days later I was minus a Mustang.

She was exasperated when I came home minus the Stinger, but a customer wanted it and "poof" it was gone.

Several times I've bought a car and put it on eBay for spits and giggles and made a profit.

I've had it for about a month or so. Keeping it hidden was the challenge. As for me, I'm back to driving my own car for now. Someone wanted a blue Stinger GT and there were none except my loaner, so it got sold as a kind of CPO out from under me. I got texted at 11:00 am. LOL and it was gone by 12:30. So now it's time to pick another loaner and I'm not really that eager for anything at the moment. Meanwhile, the wait on the boy's Ranger has been excruciating and it's definitely not here for Christmas.

@risks0me, who do you suggest?

The loaners are not price unlimited.

In the past year I've been in a Stinger, a Mustang, and a Continental.

I'd love a Ranger, but that won't happen given the enthusiastic customer response.

I'd love a Gladiator or Bronco, but they aren't out.

There's no way in hell I will drive automotive garbage, so that leaves Alfa Romeo among others out.

I'd love an Aviator, but even if they were in dealers now, the customer interest would make it hard to get one.

Nautilus? Meh.

I'd enjoy a Raptor, but they sell too quickly to consign one to CPO status.

As I said above, the ones I'm interested in are either not on the lot yet or they sell so well that they would not be put into the rental fleet. I can't literally have any car. So if the C8 Corvette came in, I could not take it as my driver.

A crossover would be easy to request but I'm not jumping with joy at the prospect.

For now, I'll drive one of my personal cars and document the miles for taxes.

I do a 300 mile round trip through LA traffic once a week, so anything stick shift is out. And probably about once every 6-8 weeks I do a 2000 mile round trip to Tucumcari. Yes, flying to Albuquerque and driving would be faster, but I actually enjoy the drive. That drive was heaven in the Continental and in the Kia K900 I had when the first one came out and Kia loaned one to the dealer to excite us and no one was excited so it became my driver. But on that trip, I am as likely to be driving one of the Rams with a car hauler.

I've been perfectly happy with a Fusion because it's the car's ability to be unobtrusive on a long trip that is the greatest value not its performance or prestige, though the folks in Newport Beach are 100% brand conscious.

Suggest something.

MD- Get a Corvette loner as your daily if you can. If you don't have winter, you can drive it year round.
