Volkswagen Recalls 2018 Golf R and Audi TTs Over Leaky Fuel Lines

Volkswagen is calling back several units of the Golf R in the United States, which may catch fire due to a faulty part.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) says that a fuel hose quick connector could detach from the supply line in the engine bay leaking fuel.

Affected by this recall are 516 units of the 2018 Golf R, which were assembled between March 13 and August 8 this year. The rest of the 2018MY hot hatches are said to have received fuel lines from a different production lot.

I would have a complete cow after shelling out all I would need to so I could have a Golf R in my driveway. I would expect it to be perfect. Extra special even with VW WRC goodness baked in.

I died of laughter at the notion of expecting perfect quality from a VW...a Kia maybe...but never a VW.

Would someone please explain what leaky FUAL LINES are?

Guess we are expecting just too much for Autospies writers to be literate.
