In A Crowded Field, Motor Trend Chooses The 2019 Jeep Wrangler As SUV Of The Year

Look past the iconic grille, and you'll see it. Behold the latest evolution of a seven-decades-old design, a soul-stirring affirmation of freedom, a surprisingly groundbreaking vehicle that shouldn't work in the 21st century as well as it does. The new Jeep Wrangler is what crossovers want to be when they grow up, and it's the 2019 MotorTrend SUV of the Year.

Rarely do past and future coexist so beautifully. The thoroughly redesigned and re-engineered Wrangler finds its own path to modernization, resisting the temptation to dilute its climb-that-mountain capabilities for crossover softness. Even so, beach-bound cruisers and daily commuters will appreciate the upgraded pavement game, and off-roaders will admire how much more confidently they can traverse their favorite trails. This Jeep delivers, no matter what.

Motor Trend was paid off. How many Americans are forging rivers in their cars or climbing unpaved mountain passes?

Motor Trend is nothing but a joke with terrible creds.

Ditto Car and Driver and the opinions of people who go on the vodka and whores press junkets. LOL

Is a Jeep Wrangler really an SUV? The Unlimited model is because it comes with with 5 doors? Or is it something else? IE does it have more in common with a Dune Buggy vs a Blazer? Is the new Gladiator an SUV too or something else? Potato Po-tato, A shooting brake has 3 or 5 doors?

MotorTrend and Zach Gale are all bought up from FCA. The 2018 Jeep Wrangler is the SUV with the highest number of complains in the NHTSA, with serious issues like welds falling part, bad steering with people losing control at just 50 mph, and death wobble. NCAP gave it 1 of 5 stars in crash tests due to no protection for rear passengers and poor protection for drivers chest and legs. They are lying to the consumer and FCA is selling on a brand and buyers want to return their unreliable wobbling JLs (I know a few). FCA overpricing this vehicle at 33k-55k as a street safe SUV is just laughable, Motor Trend calling it the best, is just dementia.
