Toyota Prius TRD, Is It Possible To Make An Appliance Cool?

For years the Toyota Prius has been the exact opposite of cool. Like a washing machine on wheels. Since Toyota is all about emotion and passion these days (finally!), has the time come for the Prius to be described as ‘cool’? Perhaps.

Set to debut early next month at the Tokyo Auto Salon is the TRD vision for the Prius. The Toyota Racing Development successfully worked its magic for the Avalon and Camry at LA last month, both of which will be offered with TRD packages in the US. Could the Prius be next?

Prius TuRD says it all. TRD is just a trim level like SR5 was on vintage Toyotas. TuRD gives you gingerbread. This is just a sign of desperation as interest in the Prius collapses.

Toyota Priius are raced in the Japan Super GT racing series, though in the GT300 class.. you'll be shocking at the type of cars it is beating..
BTw the GT500 is the top class..

The generation of Prius is probably the most ugly car on the road and now what they tried to do to make it cool with this TuRD package just made it even uglier just and when you thought it couldn't get any more ugly than it was.

IOW can Toyo de-fuglify the Prius? Probably not but I'm looking forward to see what they can do with it.

The Accord Hybrid is actually a better deal (and a better car) even though it gives up a few mpg.
