Subaru Expanding STI Brand Across the Line

The Forester STI would be nice here.

The Forester STI would be a nice alternative to the Cayenne Turbo and its ilk: after all, the $25,000 Forester Turbo is already faster than a Cayenne S!

But the real news here is the Legacy STI. Anyone remember the Legacy B4?

My legacy 3.0 H6 has already defeated the 330i and IS in many Comparison tests.

Legacy STI will be a missile,if it's going to based on the 3.0 litre H6 engine.

Not that I've read. The Legacy GT 2.5 spec_b was in an AWD Sedans comparison test (Road & Track, I believe it was May 2006, or March). This is the only one I've seen where it beat a BMW and Lexus, among others.

The results:

1. Audi A4 2.0T quattro S-Line (most sporty, best-looking, in their words)

2. Subaru Legacy GT (best value, great engine)

3. BMW 325xi (not as fun as the Audi or Subaru, but has natural BMW characteristics)

4. Lexus IS250 AWD (slow, slow, slow... but very comfortable)

5. Mazdaspeed 6 (fast, great power, just a little crude)

6. Infiniti G35X (dated)

7. Volvo S40 T5 (cramped, and not all that sporty)

In the final standings, the A4 barely beat out the Legacy, by 1.3 points, due to its refinement. If price was a factor, the Subaru would've won- but it wasn't.

For some reason, the Mercedes C-Class 4Matic wasn't included in this test. I guess it's not considered a "sports sedan". Either that, or it was too expensive, or Mercedes didn't deliver one.

And this coming from a fraction of the cost..while dominating IIhs crash tests year after year...truely amazing...I remember a few years ago..perhaps 3 or 4, Japanese Car of the year was ??? a Subaru. Very quiet and stealthy company but now..its shaking industry slowly but gradually.

That actually applies to the A4 too. It's about fifteen percent less expensive than a comparable 3 Series, and earned a "Double Best Pick" last year from the IIHS (so did the A3 and A6).

Not sure about fraction of the cost..but yes, Audi has done well in the crash tests.

The Forrester and Legacy already has a STI.

What about that Subaru Impreza P1? Huh????

Other than comparison tests,That's my personal experience too.My car have beaten the 330i and TL but i wasn' the driver at that time.My couzine was.
