With such low sales numbers, one or two successes covers for the entire lineup. Can't dump car models fast eneough.

And yet VW is not fast tracking the crossovers the American dealers have wanted forever. Instead dealers are getting the $45K Farteon, a new Passat that is the old American Passat reskinned--so NOT MQB.

Curious-Volkswagen has their year end figures and they publish them. Clearly sales of sedans(Passat) and smaller compacts(Golf and Beetle) are declining and Suv's seem to be rising. The one anomaly is the Jetta. Even though it is down that could be attributed to the change over to the new Jetta. The Passat sales are much smaller. So one assumes that the new reskin coming is to try and keep those sales from getting smaller. The Beetle is going away. That leaves the Golf. Its sales are down 39% over last year. Why not introduce the T-Rock to US shores to fill in the gap. Yes its small but its a CUV never the less. They should import a base and a GTI variant. OK it might be a little bigger than a Juke but it could be a good sales filler until VW comes out with a smaller version of the Tiguan. As for Jetta they should do a wagon version and give it AWD. I know they have a Golf All 4 but Jetta still outsells the Golf even with all the Golf models. They could really make a Jetta wagon raised up to be a true competitor to the Subaru Outback. Then they can turn around and make plugin hybrids out of each model they sell.Since they are already coming out with 2 electric models why bother to keep importing the Golf at all. A base Jetta wagon could be their cheapo FWD model along with a the Jetta S.
